SOURCE: Nordic Track c2200 no speed

It likely is the controller if it was speeding up and down erratically. Check the position of the reed switch to make sure it is positioned about 1/8" away from the magnet in the side of the front roller pulley. Run a diagnostic program as follows. Press the stop and speed arrow up buttons until you insert the key. Press the stop once or twice until you get to a screen with 2 sets of zeros. Now press and hold the speed arrow up button until one number set shows 8.5. The unit will go to full speed so be careful not to be on the walking belt. The other number set should top out shortly at either 10.0 or 12.0 based on whether your speed buttons go up to 10 or 12. If the motor races past your top number,( don't let it run that way as you may damage the motor), pull the key. If the readout is above or below your target by more than .4 and not flucuating a lot, you may need to tune the potentiometer on the controller. Counter clockwise turn with a phillips screwdriver turns the motor speed down. Be carefull not to short out the controller board by touching components with screwdriver. If not comfortable ask a friend with electronics background. If you turn the pot. too far it will break. It will not go a full revolution in either direction and tiny movements are recommended. Again I believe your controller needs replacing.

A popping noise is never good, especially if a machine is powered on. It definitely sounds like an electric issue, you could try removing your main shroud, checking if your Motor Control Board (Circuit Board) is lighting up with the power on, inspect the board for any burnt or visually damaged parts, if any it is a probable cause of the issue. You can also check the fuses on your board if any for continuity, if they are bad replace them. The next thing is your main console, if you can swap it out with one you know is good then please do so, if you swap it and the machine works, the problem is your console. If not, you will need to further troubleshoot you machine. Can be one of a few things, if you need any further help after the basic checks you can contact our Technical support Team by chat at www.sportsmith.net or by phone at 888-713-2880 we would be happy to help you and look forward to hearing from you!

Do you have the iFit component on your treadmill? We had a similar issue and I unplugged the iFit component (requires opening the console and unplugging the ribbon cable that attaches the iFit component) and the treadmill started working again.

I have a Nordic Track Commercial 1500. When I plug in everything comes on find but it will not start. The belt does not move even with no one standing on it.

If everything on the display console is working correctly then we know it is either a problem with the wires from the console to the controller or the controller itself. In most cases this means you need a new controller. To verify, take off the motor hood and find the green circuit board called the motor controller. With the power on go into manual mode and push the speed up button to a slow speed. If you see an LED light with "spd ctrl" next to it flickering but the belt still does not move then we know the problem is with the controller sending the signal to the walking belt, in which you should check the wires that go to the motor. If they are connected correctly then we know a new controller is in order. If you do not see a flickering light then it means the speed signal never got there and the problem will be with the wires going from the console to the controller. This is called an upright wire harness.

Just replaced the motor controller on my treadmill (Nordic Track Commercial 1500) but it still does not generate any speed to the belt. I still have power. Display works fine, incline works find, just that...

You have one of three things wrong. Either a bad console, bad motor or a bad wiring harness.
If you have a flashing light on the controller when you attempt to start the machine then you more than likely have a bad motor. (this has a long warranty may be able to get one for free, check the back of your manual)
If there is no flashing light on the console then you will need to check the wire harness. This unit is known for pinching wires at the lower section where the upright connects to the lower frame. To check this you will need to remove the console. Three screws on each side and the wire harness on the right side will need to be unplugged. Then remove the right upright by removing the two bolt located on the bottom of the frame. Then do a visual inspection for pinched wires especially where the upright connects to the lower frame.
If the harness looks ok then you will more than likely have a bad console.
If you need parts you can go to http://www.iconservice.com/CustomerService/parts.do
Good Luck! Tim

Nordic Track exp 2000I. Consol lights, buttons do not work.

If the console lights up but the buttons don't work, then unfortunately it's probably the console and they're not repairable that I know of. You may want to check the wiring harness and the connections at the console and at the controller under the motor hood. Pull them apart and check for bent pins. If they look good, the console is most likely bad.

Garage door opener stopped working I replaced batteries in the remote the door bell button starts the motor but the chain does not engage Does work manually

Perhaps you pulled the emergency release cord to release the drive mechanism from the chain up on the track. Push the cam lever back up to reengage the drive follower to the chain. BJ.
