Diet sodas are definitely healthier than regular sodas, but they have
their disadvantages as well. The advantages are:
They don't contain any sugar- you won't gain weight
from them and they won't raise your blood levels.
They contain a very low amount of calories- you can
drink few servings of diet sodas without having to worry about the calorie
The disadvantages of diet sodas are:
They are not as sweet as the regular sodas, which
some people will have hard time to get used to.
Artificial sweeteners used in sodas pose several
health risks. For example, aspartame has been linked to causing cancer,
Alzheimer, and birth defects.
• Diet sodas can actually make you gain weight (indirectly) because people who drink it tend to look for sugars from other types of food.
