Need to know how to get the blade off the miter saw to replace the blade

First, make sure it's unplugged.

On many saws the guard mechanism partially covers the bolt that holds the blade in place. Loosen and move the part out of the way as recommended by the manufacturer. On this saw you loosen a screw and then slide the mechanism up and towards the rear.

Press the spindle lock to lock the blade in place. Turn the bolt clockwise - opposite the normal direction - to loosen and remove it. Remove the outer blade washer and the blade. Leave the inner blade washer in place. Wipe a drop of oil on the surfaces of the blade washers that touch the blade.

Put the blade on the saw so that the teeth point down. Putting the blade on with the teeth facing in the other direction can result in serious injury. Put the outer blade washer in place. Turn the bolt counterclockwise until it is snug, plus another 1/8 to 1/4 turn. Replace the cover and you're finished.

Does the husq 440e have an oil adjustment on it?

Hi mwaltz48,

Yes, Huskys have a screw adjustment on the bottom, under the chain sprocket assembly.
While looking at the bar side of the saw, turn it over and you'll see a screw that has 3 positions.
Turn the screw to the right will decrease the oil flow, left to increase it. If you put a longer blade on, you should increase the oil flow.

A way to check your oil flow is to run the saw with the blade pointing at something light, such as a freshly cut chunk of wood, or the end of a log, etc. You should see a light line of oil appear.

I hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate your vote. Thanks,

I have a poulan ES300 electric chainsaw and have been having a problem with the saw blade getting lubricated. I put the lubricant in the resevoir but oil is not flowing on the blade. How do I repair this...

Take the bar off. Then run the saw to see if oil is coming out.If it is make sure the oil hole in the bar is not plugged up.This happens after some use.To clean the bar you can use a small flat blade screw drive.Just scrape down the grove. You will see a small hole at the end where it bolts on.If you have an air hose just blow it out.It has to be open for the oil to get to the bar.

I have an Remington 3.25 (Peak Hp) 16"/40, 6 cm electric chain saw, And I have just a few questions 1.) Does it take oil/gas or just oil and if so what kind. 2.) How would I tighten the chain, its...

It uses oil only to lubricate the chain. The type of oil in not critical although special chain saw oil is available. If you use anything but chain saw blade oil, make sure that it is a light oil, both in viscosity and in colour because it is a total loss system and dark or dirty oil can become very messy. The chain adjustment is on the body at the end of the blade, it actually moves the blade in or out to set the chain tension. The chain should be tensioned that when it is pulled at the bottom, the guides of the chain should not quite come out of the slot in the blade. If the chain is too tight it overheats the blade and stretches the chain.

Motor not running properly

It's hard to know for certain without some more specific information about the saw, such as make and model #.
On many saws there is an arbor lock, a button you push down that prevents the blade from turning and allows you to loosen the nut. On some saws, that nut is reverse threaded, depending on which side of the motor the blade is on. If it's on your left as you hold it, good chance you're trying to tighten it instead of loosen it, and that's why it won't come off.
If there's a hex head shaped plug on the body of the motor, this is access to oil, but check the manufacturer's recommendation for the right weight of oil to put in there. Often it's a heavy weight gear oil, instead of plain motor oil.
If you'd like more specifics, I can try to look it up for you if you reply with info on your saw...

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take a moment to kindly rate this post....thanks!

How do I change the blade on my Ryobi 10" table saw?

The manual is posted on line. Changing the blade does not require turning the saw over, blocks of wood or vice grips. The advice listed above is potentially damaging to your equipment.
