Question about Radio Communications

Get a second radio and set it up to receive,turn the volume up a little more than 1/2 way.now with yours ,open the volume about 1/8 so you can hear the other radio, now say something . Make sure both radios are on the same channel .If you don't hear anything you might need a tech to look at it.

The closest radio I have on hand to that one is a
If looking at the front of the meter, this radiois wired:
black and red wires soldered to gether on the left post
purple wire on the right post.
