My screen wont display

If you disconnect all the cables except the power cable, is the screen still white? White is unusual as it is the presence of all colors. Thus the white is probably coming from the video source.
If possible connect to a different video source.

I have a dim screen!

Probably a bad power supply or an exhausted backlight source, or both. You can pry apart the monitor shell and look at the power supply board for bulged capacitor(s). Just replace all the large ones if even one is bulged. You need soldering tools to do this job.

Screen is dim when power not plugged in

In power settings you will find the dim adjust, Your laptop has power settings you can adjust to your preference. That said, the default settings are usually set to a power saving that means when you unplug your laptop from th AC source your laptop will dim to the power savings settings and prolong battery life. Look in power settings by right clicking the power icon in the taskbar notification area and open the power options. There are many options to choose from I use High Preformance, but on battery it shorten battery life. If you need assistance just respond to this solution.

Today we lost power to our home. Blinked first then dimmed and then went out completely. When power was restored, I tried to turn my computer on but the switch light would not come on. No power except...

If the computer was not plugged into a surge protector the computer could be damaged. If it was plugged into into a surge protector see if there is a reset on the surge protector .Try unplugging the computer for a few minutes and the plug it in again and try it. You can try plugging the computer into a different outlet that you know is working(without the surge protector). If you look on the power supply there may be a reset inside the case.
If nothing works you may have only burnt out the power supply in the computer, you could try another power supply from another computer to see if it is just the power supply. If still not working you would have to test and trouble shoot all your parts to see what is damaged.
Thanks for using FixYa

There was a power outlage and when the power came back on the monitor would not turn on

Hello, If there is a power outage and the monitor fails to come up, i would want you to take the monitor to a good power supply source and plug it there to see if it will come up, the problem might be with the power source, if not then the problem is with the monitor.if it is dim, i mean the screen then you can be sure is the inverter switch on the monitor, but if i have a monitor problem, the best thing, i would likely do is to get a new one. Regards

My Garmin nuvi 1300 brightness problems

I spoke to Garmin Support about this issue. There are 2 settings for contrast on the nuvi 1300. You need to set the contrast while it is plugged into the vehicle, and also while it is unplugged from the vehicle. The reason for the 2 settings is to save the charge of the battery while it is not plugged into the vehicle or power source.

My HP Pavilion dv5000;s monitor is blinking!

This is a possible problem with the inverter that powers the back lighting panel or it could be the power adapter connector on the latop.
Wriggle the power connector which plugs into the laptop, if the LCD screen flickers then the power connector is faulty or needs resolderng (repairing).
