Question about RCA F32450 32" TV
My RCA F32450 32" TV has fine wavy lines in pic. Picture is tolerable, but words are unreadable due to waviness. The edge of the facial areas instead of being smooth line are fuzzy for lack of a better description. It appears on all inputs, all over screen. It is not changed by the presence or lack of sound, and is there whether Cable, DVD, Sat or over the air.
Occasionally, the TV will turn itself off, and stay off for about 30 before turning itself on. It will do this once in a while and only one time per viewing time.
It looks like it may be 60 cycle "hum" on the picture, perhaps a result of a faulty PS cap(s). Before I open this up, I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this and how they resolved it. It is a 9/2002 build date, which I think is about the time where the defective Electrolitic caps were an issue.
Any help is appreciated!
Most RCA repairs on your chassis series require a new IHVT,
AKA flyback transformer . Inside an Integrated HVT are diodes
that can degrade and give the appearance of a bad cap....
Of course, you should check the electrolytics with an ESR
meter, just in case....
