Question about Manitowoc QD0452A Ice Machine

Open Question

Did my on/off switch go bad or do I need a control board? What happened? Do you have any ideas as to what I should be checking at this point?

The compressor was not coming on so I replaced the start device which was fried and the capacitor which was holding 0 microfarads. Before that everything else was working, although my boss did clean the machine in the meantime. When I tried to start it up after that the harvest light blinked twice and nothing comes on in ice mode. In clean mode the water pump comes on and it drains properly, but thats it. I'm not getting a low voltage signal to my contactor. Its about 95 degrees F.

SOURCE: The compressor on a Manitowic

the order of things I would check are...

~if oil lubed, the oil level
~ a motor load test
~ the pump cylinder and piston assembly

It could be any number of things that are causing this problem, and I don't have enough info from you to guess more accurately than that.

Good luck.

Your compressor is probably failing, drawing excessive current, then shutting down on the overload device inside the controller. An amprobe would confirm this. Also, if the compressor takes a rather long time to re-start, that would confirm it.

Rheem corsair. Just replaced control board and now igniter come on , burner lights but doesn't stay lit. Took out flame sensor and sanded and replaced. Still same issue . Is the sensor bad or can i

If the sensor does not I.D. a pilot, the furnace would not fire, so your OK to this point. The sensor needs to stay in a flame constantly once the main burners light. Sometimes the draft will cause the flame to waver and cause a shutdown. Also, if the blower fan does not start on time, the furnace will shut down. I would check for wavering first.

The unit stopped heating. The last time this happened I cut the power off at the circuit breaker an it started heating again. This time, nothing. You got any ideas?

It sounds normal, but there's no heat When the microwave sounds okay, but there's no heat, one of the internal door switches, the high voltage circuitry, or the circuit board may have a problem. To resolve this problem, you need the assistance of a qualified appliance repair technician.

I have a uline ice maker on my sea ray model is ulnbi95btp-03 the ice maker will not turn on I have power to the thermostat but when I remove the two wires connection the thermostat and cross them...

First take your meter and check to see if you have power going to your rocker switch if so then check to see if you have power going through the rocker switch or you can ohm the switch with out power applied to make sure switch is good, if switch is good then check the control switch power should be going to switch from rocker switch make sure power is going through control switch if so at this point you should have power to control board if so then replace control board.

That control board is several hundred dollars. If I may make a suggestion, take a jumper and when the inducer fan starts, jump out the pressure switch. If it starts, it's not the board but a bad switch, hose or blocked exhaust vent.

Replaced control board, won't power up

You will need a volt meter to test the board for power.
First remove the cover at the cord terminal and verify 220 volts to the dryer as well as 120 volts from each hot leg to neutral.
If power is OK there, open the console to access the control board you replaced. The door must be closed. With the volt meter check for power at terminals BB1 position #1 and BB2 position #3.BB1 is L1 power in. BB2 is neutral power in. If no power is present check the door switch.
The L1 power comes from the terminal block to the door switch before it goes to the board.
If power is present at the board and nothing works you have a bad board.

The washer will work for a few minutes but when it changes cycles it quits and throws the breaker. Becky

It sounds like a bad timer control board or a bad mot.
Check at what point the problem happens, if it happens only on hot water cycles for example, can be a shorted element wiring. If it happens when motor kicks in, then it can be motor control unit or motor assembly. If it happens when it start filling it can be inlet valve.
Either than that the problem can be caused on all circumstances by a bad timer control board.
Parts involved must be tested and eventually replaced.

On board sensor for windshield fluid

The sensor may still be bad even with cleaning, as this is an electrical part, Since the sensor only checks for a low fluid level, it should just be like an on-off switch.  You can check it by removing the sensor from the Jeep and checking the resistance or continuity  across the 2 wires, is there is no change when you move the float up and down, then the sensor is probably bad.  If the continuity changes then the sensor is good, pointing to a deeper problem like a short in the electrical system or a bad body control module.  Good Luck!
