"Not Supported Mode" Message...

Using this unit with Verizon FiOS cable service. Today (11/3/07) turned on the TV to find a "Not Supported Mode" message for the input coming from the HD/DVR unit. Checked into some support sites and found that this problem seems to be fairly common when the screen is used with a computer, and can be adjusted through the computer's monitor settings--mine has never been hooked up to a computer.

So far, I have disconnected/reconnected the power & all of the cable connections. A thousand thanks to anyone who knows how to clear this!

i have a samsung 47in 1080p with the verizon fios dvr hd programming.

The other day i was messing with the settings and went to video and saw that it is only up to 1080i and tried to see the difference between 720p.

it worked allright but when i tried to switch it back it locke up and said not supported mode. and even when i change it back to another setting it desnt allow me to get out of not supported mode.

i thought that it would probably be the reciver for fios but what would be another reason. thanx.

Your tv does NOT support any higher than 720p res.
Is your cable box set to this? If not, and it is set to 1080i than it would explain this, and is also a common problem with computer(vga) connections even with monitors. To see the current resolution the box is set to hook up a yellow jack to the to from cable box just to get the picture back long enough to navigate to a setup menu and lower the resolution back to the highest supported which is 720p

I got a hd box and the channels keep cuttin out

Hello, I actually install HD boxes for Verizon Fios. If your video signal is too low, you will notice "Pixellation" (Those weird square boxes that come and go) and in some cases, you will not even be able to receive some channels at all. HD channels use much more bandwidth than standard definition channels. The good news....there's a fix. If you use standard cable (Not Fios) you can buy a signal booster. These can be purchased at best buy, Radio Shack, etc. It is a powered device that plugs into an outlet (110v) You take your cable company's input or "Feed" run it into the booster, connect the power, and the run a coax cable out of the booster and into your splitter. Assuming all of your cabling is up to par, this will fix your problem. If you have Verizon Fios, you must call and have us come out as our tv service uses "Moca" and cannot be boosted with a store bought unit. I hope this helps.

My husband bought me your DVD Recorder Model No. DMR-EH75V for Christmas in 2006. It worked with my analog TV and a COMCAST cable box. In April 2007, I bought an Olevia HD TV and changed to a Verizon...

Due to certain limitations of the Panasonic DMR-EH75V, it can only accommodate composite Video INput and give composite Video OUTput as well as the standard Audio L/R. Additionally, if your Verizon FIOS HD cable box has an RF OUT, that can also be connected to the RF/CABLE IN of the Panasonic.

Please refer to the simplified diagram below.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Windows Networking Issue

FIOS and DSL use different modems and or gateway devices. Sounds like you were using a DSL gateway device with networking setup and when you moved to FIOS, the tech did not duplicate your network on your new FIOS gateway. OR you had a 3rd party router e.g. Linksys that was removed from the setup when FIOS was installed.
Either way, Verizon is who you should contact. Just tell them your network went down after you moved from DSL to FIOS. Dont mention Microsoft or Livewebtv.

Now have verizon Fios and cannot get DVD player to play

Check the connection cable. If the Verizon box and the DVD player are connecting to the same TV input, ensure that the Verizon fios box is connecting to DVD input, and DVD output is connecting to TV.

If you connect DVD out to Verizon box input, and then TV , you will have to turn off the receiver box to see DVD.

If you use only one TV Input connect Verizon output to DVD input and DVD out to TV.

If instead you use separate inputs on TV, then try using the source/select input button on TV remote, and try different cables.

Tv goes off, then comes on, and volume goes to max

OMG! Verizon Fios at it again with changing boxes! Well let me tell you if you do not loose signal on a DVD using these same inputs ITS NOT YOUR TV!

Whats going on is further into Verizon system you loosing the signal from the VDSL slam outside in the pill box. This thing will need to be replaced and they are going to blame your TV until you just give up and buy a new TV only to figure out its not your TV.

1. Call them back
2. tell them to check there network
3. if that dont work tell them to check it again
4. if you have HDMI use that instead of the scart connections.

I hope you have luck with Verizon Fios there internet rules but there TV service is sub par!

I already have verizon internet"fios' how ever i want to purchas cable for my hd tv

Usually Verizon can offer HD TV over the same FIOS cable. If you call them, they can connect it to your TV for you.

If you call the cable company they can probably set up cable for you. The two shouldn't interfere with each other.

"Not supported Mode" message

Hook up the component cables on the tv and the dtv box
go to set up on the menu select HDTV or display and deselect all of the 480i and 480p and in some cases also the 720 and only select 1080i to be display. you can then hook up your hdmi cable again and it shoud be supported. Let me know if that works.
