LG Air Conditioner LWHD2500ER - Change air testing of 3 min to 5

When in the energy saving mode it checks the air about every 3 min or so. We have a very insulated area and don't need the unit to check it that often - air is still cool. I want to change it to check the air every 5-10 or so
minutes.
I guess I need to know how to go into the programming and change this setting.

Thanks, Dave

dont pull the AC as it need some technquie and force . if ice is forming on evaporator coil then certainly the refrigerant is low , or the fliters are choked as the circulation of proper air is not done..

How can I turn on the energy saver on my LWHD2400HR air conditioner? There is no switch on the A/C, only an indicator light that says "Energy Saver"?

The Energy Saver mode is activated by using the hand held remote control, that comes with the unit. Pressing the Energy Saver button activates it. Once activated the fan will shut OFF when the the compressor does. After which, about every 3 minutes the fan will turn ON to check the room air to determine if cooling is needed.

It sounds like, you're missing the hand held remote control?

The portable air conditioning unit turns to air conditioning mode to fan mode and back every 5 to 10 minutes. Is this normal?

Yes, Nicole it is. If the room is cooling down like it should. It actually is saving you money. As the compressor uses more energy than fan.

Hope this helps you.

My LG LWHD2500ER problem??

The compressor has an overload. Your description sounds like it is cycling. It may be a faulty overload, but typically that is a symptomof a compressor or refrigerant charge problem. Typically not worthy repairing on a window unit.

My motor compressor thrifts every 5 mins.

If you have a low pressure switch on your air conditioner it's opening and closing, because you don't have enough refrigerant in the system or it's cycling on the thermal overload in the compressor because it's getting hot.
You need to charge your system to approximately 12° to 15° superheat not by pressure.

How can we caculate the energy needed by an air conditioner?

It depends on the (EER) Energy Efficiency Ratio, which is capacity divided by watts.
Example 35000 btus / 2500 watts = 14 EER
If you know the capacity, btus and EER you can calculate the watts, capacity / EER
Example 35000 btus / 14 EER = 2500 watts.

EER is determine by testing the air conditioner at Department of Energy Guidelines, which are
80° drybulb 67° wetbulb indoor and 95° and 82° drybulb outdoor.
