Click "Recovery & restore" on the left side of the VAIO Care window, then click "Recovery." Click "Recovery Computer" on the right side of the program window.



Click "Yes" to verify that you are aware the computer will be recovered to its original factory settings and that all of your personal files and programs will be erased.


The computer will restart and the recovery process will begin.

When the process is finished, the computer will restart again and boot up to the Windows 7 setup screen.

Turn on or restart your Sony Vaio computer.


Press the "F10" key repeatedly when the Vaio logo appears on the screen during the boot process to be redirected to the Boot Options menu on your machine.

I am using sony vaio vpcea33en and could not able to create its recovery disk using vaio care i have purchased my laptop last week .On starting the recovery on media there is a error occured that is ...


Assuming Your Recovery Partition is still intact, You Better use clean and high quality Disks. The laptop should be kept still while writing to Disk. If all fails. You can always use another vpcea33en's recovery Disks for Your own laptop. Make sure the model number matches.

How to access recovery partition of Sony Vaio VGN-NW249F laptop?


Hi j5rak,

You can use the VAIO Care Software to access the Recovery Partition within the Operating System.

To open the VAIO Care Software, click Start, All Programs, VAIO Care folder and then click VAIO Care. Then, in the VAIO Care window, in the left pane, click Recovery & Restore . Then you can select the required option in the Recovery & Restore window.


You can also access the Recovery Partition by pressing and holding the F10 Key while restarting the Computer. At the Edit Boot options screen, please press the Enter Key to launch the VAIO Recovery Center.

Cannot launch vaio recovery center after unsuccessfull restore to original condition, now have hard drive error and bugs with windows vista. Sony support does not list the vaio cr-220e on its driver update...

Try again to launch the VAIO Recovery Center by following
  1. Restart the Computer, tap the F10 to access the Recovery Partition.
  2. At the Edit Boot Options, press the Enter Key.
  3. Then, in the VAIO Recovery Center window, select the Restore C: Drive.
  4. Then, follow the onscreen instructions..
