Hd-dvd-player i put in transformers HD movie into HD-Player and i tells me that it will not play secondary parts to the hd part and tells me to go to www.xbox.com/suppor

  • whitay Nov 05, 2007

I watched Transformers once on my xbox hd dvd drive, then when I tried to watch it again, it freezes on the web update page...the whole console freezes. I thought it was the disc, so I went and got another one, but the same thing happened. Do I have a virus or what? All my other HD dvd movies play fine...even the disc 2 of transformers plays fine. What's the deal? Anyone else have this problem?

Just go to your memory on your xbox dashboard and delete the transformers cookie. If you do not know which one it is just delete all the HD DVD Content files and start fresh. When you are done and you put the Transformers HD DVD in again, it will ask if you want to accept the cookies. Simply select "decline cookies" and your problem will be solved. It make take a minute to load the movie, but this fixes the problem

Mine wont play anything a DVD it recorded it wont let me finalize

Today with HD High Definition TV these kind of problems appears because the new dvd players have more video resolution options, so, for playing all variety of dvd, and home done dvs,s (like family movies on dvd) you need set up your resolution video on your DVD player at 480i or 480p option, not higher because some DVD movies (mainly oldies) have lower resolution than newer , for example new movies on HD format have 1080 P resolution, and if you have this option chosen in your DVD player you only can see this kind of videos, on the other hand if you have chosen 480i or 480 p on your dvd player , you can play all dvd formats including home movies made with any movie software, in this way you can play dvd-r and +r movies and of cours you can play HD movies also. So put some dvd where your dvd player works well (you need see the dvd menu in the tv screen), then press stop. Then press setup in your remote control, go to video resolution and choose 480 I or 480p, then press ok AND ENJOY THE MOVIE.

Dvd player will not player dvd's or cd's

When you put the DVD in, you mean it will not launch the appropriate player to start playback of the video?

Maybe your autoplay settings are messed up.

Try launching your movie playback software and attempt to manually play the disc and see if this works.

Another thing, is your drive listed under my computer?

HD movie player

Greetings moseracc,

If the box sets are HD DVD, then you will need an HD DVD player for them play on. Some stores may still carry players in this format however a few months ago, the switch in the industry was made to the Blu-Ray format.

I hope this helps!

Thank you,

Dorothy

Dvd player, hd dvd movies

If this is just a regular DVD player, then no. You need an HD DVD player to play HD DVD discs. Now the HD DVD players should play regular DVD discs.

Converting up to 1080

Hello. You have to use the HDMI port and connect to the HDMI, or DVI, port on the back of the TV to get 1080. Even if playing HDDVD, this cable is necessary to get the increase. That, and the TV has to be in 1080 too. If you look at the display, on the front of the player, while watching the DVD, it will tell you at what resolution the DVD is playing. The HDMI to HDMI/DVI must be installed to get the increase in resolution. I have a Panasonic HD 34" 1080i widescreen TV, with DVI connection. When connected, the player played my DVD's at 1080i on my TV, while at only 480i thru the composite cables.

On some older movies or series(I like Star Trek- TNG), it doesn't work well due to the transfer to the DVD. Most newer DVD's, such as Batman Begins (there is an HD out, but I have DVD only), improved on the upconvert for me nicely.

DVD player will not play HD DVD's (It's supposed to be able to play HD DVd's)

If it plays everything except HD DVDs, then the player needs to have it's software updated. Not sure how this is done. You may have to contact the manufacturer, or return it to the store you bought it from. If it has problems playing all discs, then the laser may be dirty or out of alignment. Buy a cd/dvd cleaner and try it. These are simply discs that have a little area on them that you put a drop of cleaning solution and then insert into the player. If you are mechanically inclined, you can try opening up the player and using some rubbing alcohol on a Qtip to clean the laser lens (if it is accessible).
