Egr temp sensor nr1 high voltage, 2013 gmc 6.6 diesel, have had recent problems with rodents chewing on wiring. Suggestions ?

You need to pull the harness up high enough to look at it. They probably chewed right thru the supply voltage wire to the EGR sensor. Since it is saying high voltage the ECM is OK, it is doing what its supposed to. The ECM isn't seeing a voltage drop because with a open circuit there is no place for the voltage to go. Id look in the valley area between the heads, they love to nest in this area for warmth.

My check engine light just came on and I took it in. I was told rats chewed thru my ignition coil. To replace it they are charging me $671 for the part alone!! I feel like this is outrageous and I'm...

I've been in this business long enough to believe that nothing is impossible. That said, I've seen many wiring harnesses chewed up by rodents, but never hard parts like a coil. If a harness has a few wires chewed, most shops will just repair it but if there is extensive damage, likely they are replacing the entire thing. Depending upon which harness needs replacement, the cost can be expensive both for labor and the part itself. That would make more sense. Sure there isn't a mis-communication and that's actually what the shop is doing??

I have a 2006 Chevy reported are P0449 and P0455....replaced fuel cap but did not solve problem....what are my next steps without spending tons of money at a dealership? Thanks

There may be an emissions leak but a very common issue is the canister vent valve. Make sure if you contact your local dealership that you have your vehicles vin number available.
