on the CLI you need to change the username and password on the ephone for that phone. Then you need to session into the CUE module and change the password there as well. do a show run and find the username and password that you need to change and then do config t and change the password. The user can also do this on the phone if they know the previous password.

I have a Plantronics headset on Cisco 7945 and after about 30 seconds you have to hit the headset button to continue the call


The issue is most likely because the Electronic Hookswitch Control setting is disabled on the phone. You can check it by following the instructions below. This setting can be changed by the phone system administrator and only applies to Cisco 7900 Series sets.

Press the settings button on the phone (checkbox icon).
  1. Choose "Device Configuration"
  2. Choose "Media Confirguration"
  3. Note the value "Headset Hookswitch Control"

I've been having the same issue, I tried playing with the channel slider switch on the right side (letters A - I) and one of them worked for audio and mic. D was the magic letter for me, could be diff for you.

The very first password that comes with the phone new out of the box. I can't access the voice mail without a password.


The voicemail password is typically set on your PBX or Callmanager. The phone is only a registered extension, when you enter the VM password it is simply passing those digits to your PBX for validation.

Well, in most Cisco VoIP phones those lights are used to tell you if you have a voicemail. Have you checked your vm and cleared any new ones? This might be your issue ;)
