Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

Quick Rinse light was flashing at end of cycle. Opened and closed door and pushed Start. Quick Rinse and Cancel/Drain light are now flashing and machine won't start. Turned off power supply (30 seconds) / turned on power supply and then tried again to start the dishwasher, but same problem. Control panel seems to be frozen at the Quick Rinse/Drain mode and will not cancel. Help! Thank you

No, the lights are not flashing 7 times and then pausing. The Quick Rinse and cancel/Drain lights are flashing evenly as though waiting for someone to push the pads...but pushing the pads is no help.
Originally, at the end of a normal cycle, the first sign of trouble was that the Quick Rinse light was flashing. So then I pushed the Start button. Quick Rinse and cancel/Drain began flashing evenly together, steady, no pauses.
I have tried other sequences but always end up with the above symptoms.
    Thanks for any help.

You have been a great help. We will see how things develop, but it looks like the touch pads have a stuck button, because all operations revert back to a flashing Quick Rinse button when all is said and done. I will let you know how this plays out. The customer may not want to get it fixed because the cost of the part (control pad) is going to be over $200 and only available in black, while he has an all-white console.........(This is a 2001 model)
    Thanks

Final Diagnosis: This unit has a stuck button, causing the Quick Rinse light to flash. Parts and Labour to repair would be around $400, so cost of repair is not justified.

Ok try this, open the door and then hit these buttons in the following combination. HI TEMP - DRY - HI TEMP - DRY...then close door and press cancel...then wait for the pump to shut down. you should be able to run a cycle after this...If this fails to fix the problem give me the make and model # of the dishwasher, this can normally be found just inside the door.

I have a SHU5305us/u12 and my front door lettering got erase. anyone have a picture or a manual that tells me what each button means.

Cycle Interruption

As a safety feature the dishwasher will automatically turn itself off whenever the door is opened. However, if the door is opened quickly while in a wash or rinse cycle some water may splash out of the dishwasher. For this reason it is recommended that the machine always be switched off before opening the door.

To Interrupt a Cycle

1. Press the on/off button to stop operation.

2. Wait at least 10 seconds (or until the water noises stop) before opening the door.

To Resume a Cycle

1. SHU/SHI models, close the door and press the on/off button.

2. SHV models, push the on/off button and close the door.

Changing a Cycle

For Bosch dishwasher models SHI 6800 and 4320, SHU 5300, 5310 and 6800 press the program button of the desired cycle TWICE. For all other Bosch dishwasher models, press the program button of the desired cycle ONCE. The chosen cycle button (or the light above it) becomes illuminated, showing that it has been selected.

* SHU 3030 and SHU 3130 models do not have program lights.

Cancelling a Cycle

Each control panel shows which buttons to simultaneously push to cancel a cycle. Refer to your dishwasher to find the cancel drain buttons on your particular model.

1. Press the indicated buttons at the same time and hold for approximately 3 seconds.

2. When the drain pump noises stop and the LED display or clean light indicate that the end of the cycle has been reached, the dish

washer is reset.

3. Press the on/off button to turn the dishwasher off.

4. The dishwasher is now ready to run a selected cycle. Add more detergent if necessary.

Kenmore Elite 665.15929001 Dishwasher, flashing Sani-Rinse light, won't start

Kenmore is **** with a double PP go buy a Maytag or GE and throw it threw the appliance dept like the Discount tire guy did on TV. I have asked the same question on 4 different blog's and no answer. The question to where they were actually built is unavailable. They only warranty products for 1 year and their disclaimer's add up to when you walk out the door. They are just JUNK! sorry I do not know the answer, first you will pay the repair man then end up buying a new one anyway. Same as me..Peace!

I have filled dishwasher selected temperature and the start light is flashing but nothing happens I think the m/c type is 7197

The Start/Resume light is flashing

This flashing light indicates that your cycle or start-up was interrupted.
Possible causes: The door opened during the cycle, or the power was interrupted.
To resume operation: Make sure the door is closed, and press Start/Resume.

The Clean light is flashing

You should call for service if the Clean light is flashing and the machine is inoperable. It is normal if the Clean light stays on after the cycle is complete. The Clean light is an indication that the dishwasher has been run and that the dishes inside it are clean. Once the door is opened after the cycle is complete, the light will shut off.

The lights are rapidly flashing

Any key that gets stuck will rapidly flash. Press the key a few times in order to release it or press Cancel.

The Rinse Only light is rapidly flashing

If multiple keys are stuck, the Rinse Only light will flash. Press each key, one at a time, to release the stuck keys, or press cancel.

Can't get washer to start again after pushing pause/cancel button

sounds like central control unit problem, you can check for diagnostic mode operation by setting (door closed) drain/spin, no spin, pressing prewash 4 times in 5 secs pressing prewash again will advance through diagnostic cycle. replacing user interface may also be necessary

Flashing quick rinse light on panel

I had the same problem but I found someone wh said that there is a way to reset the dishwasher. I tried it and it has worked so far.

Here is what I did.
Push the Hi-temp and then push the Sani-rinse. Go back and forth multiple times on these two buttons. I found that after a handfull of pushes that a "1" came up on the display. I continued to keep rotating the two buttons and then a "2" came up on the display and the dishwater started it's "drain" phase. I then hit cancel to clear and then I selected the cycle I wanted. The washer started up just as normal at this point.
Good luck!
