IBM Wheelwriter 10 (Ser II) Frozen w/ Blinking Indicator Lights

We have a an IBM Wheelwriter 10 (Series II) that was working fine. Flipped it on today and 3 of the 4 the indicator lights for spacing (1, 2 and 3 but not 1 1/2) are blinking and we can't do anything else - type, advance carriage etc. - completely frozen. No other lights are blinking. Turning off/on and unplugging don't work. Thoughts?

It is most likely a bad keyboard. You can try my fix under WW1000 or contact Geo. Beyers Co. for a rebuild.

I have an IBM Wheelwriter 10 Series ii typewriter that locks up with the 1, 1 1/2, 2 & 3 lights on the bottom right blinking. It will do nothing else.

If it types at first then locks up try a shot of WD40 on the silver shaft that the carrier slides on, if it still happens the carrier motor will need some to it is located under the case in the R. rear.

Check in the area where the printwheel is installed for paper or other debris. If it does the same thing with the printwheel out then it is probably a printwheel sensor.

Could be many things. Take off the case and look for parer clips, staples or other debris on or under the PC board or in the power supply.

Try a little light oil on the printer shaft. WD40 works well.
