You need to either bend the arm that connects tot he float down (if it is the type with the ball float) or adjust the height of the fill valve assembly. THis accomplished by slightly twisting the valve assembly carefully and sliding down a half of an inch or so and then twisting back to lock it in place.

This should fix you up right.

If the G-Max valve is not shutting off, just pop a new assembly cap on it.
They are about $2.50 at Lowes.
Even a homeowner can replace the part without tools in less then a minute.

The chain in my tto toilet came off of the pink flapper. how do i repair this and will it hold

The flapper assembly alone can be replaced. Turn off the water supply to the toilet and manually lift and remove the flapper from the fill tube - if you have to cut it, that's ok. Inspect the lip the flapper sits on, looking for chips or flaws that make that surface uneven.Go to your local hardware store - they have a large variety of replacement flappers from just a couple of dollars to pricier versions. Matching flapper color is not important - design and style is! Your fill tube probably has ears on the sides - you'll want to make sure you get an eared replacement. Usually the replacement flapper will have "extra " parts cast into the rubber for multiple applications, and these can be removed with scissors or a razor knife. Follow instructions provided with the flapper and know you just saved a healthy amount of cash over a service call!

Replace flapper valve in ultramax

Your Toto has the "G-Max" flush valve system. The Korky/Lavelle folks have a carded replacement flapper #2021BP for it. It is red in color and the only generic flapper that will work on your toilet. While it may look the same, do not confuse it with the blue flapper #2022BP. Known as the PowerMax flapper, the blue color is to distinguish between the two and the flappers are totally toilet specific. Let your fingers do the walking and locate a hardware store near you that carries the Korky/Lavelle brand or it can be ordered online from several places using the part number for your search word.
If the fill valve ever stops filling correctly, the Lavelle "Quiet Fill", #528BP, is what Toto uses in most of their toilets.

My Toto Toilet Flapper no longer works, one of the plastic bars that hold the flapper has broken so the flapper does not seat correctly. What to you recommend to fix this problem

Many local Hard Ware stores such as Home Depot or Lowes stock replacement parts that may be compatible. Turn off the water, drain the take and remove the piece and bring it to the hardware store to find a replacement part.

Failing that get the OEM part through a TOTO dealer ordered in.

Toto toilet is running

You will have to use ToTo OEM replacement parts. If the water is going over the overflow pipe, the fill valve washer will need to be replaced. If the water is running into the bowl and not over the overflow, the flapper will need to be replaced.

Did you replace the flapper with a genuine Toto replacement flapper? If you didn't, they are slightly different. Toto toilets are fantastic but you do need to use OEM parts for repair.

Toto Dartmouth toilet flapper/chain design flaw

Your right this is a poor design. Space was the main reason for this and functionality was sacrificed. However, you can get a replacement rod at a major plumbing store. You could rig it by attaching a stem to the valve assembly. Allow the chain or rubber piece to slide over it. It is kind of like putting a permanent finger in the path of the chain to give it a "direct" lift up. This would then force the chain to go up instead of at an angle.
