Hello annp, thank you for your post! Based
on the symptoms you are describing, it does sounds like a siphoning issue.
Generally speaking, the drain hose should come up above the washer tub and
please make sure the drain hose is not too deep in to the house drain pipe. The
drain hose should only be submerged 4-8 inches into the house drain pipe. If
correct, otherwise the unit might be experiencing a communication with the
control board and water fill valve. At this point, please
reach out to an expert technician to ensure the appropriate replacement part is
ordered and is installed correctly to prevent future issues. I hope this
information helps to some degree - please do not
hesitate to reconnect.
This happens on new installations usually. The drain hose must be higher than the highest fill height of the washer. If the drain hose is to low it will create a siphon effect and drain the machine. Next is the drain hose is to tight in the standpipe. The standpipe is your homes plumbing. If the drain hose does not have an air gap around it, it can cause a siphon effect and start draining your machine as it fills. If none of these are the problem and your drain pump is running at the same time it is filling you will need to replace the control. http://appliancehelponline.com/washerdrainsfills.html
Check you drain line. It may be too low or the air gap is blocked at the drain pipe.
A test is remove the drain pipe from the wall drain. Hold it up high and turn the washer on to fill.
If it fills and stops, then starts agitation. Repair the drain hose.
Water siphoning out the drain line If the water is
continues to fill and water is draining while it is filling or
agitating, Check the height of the stand pipe. It should be about 36"
above the floor. If the height is correct it may need to have an
anti-siphoning valve installed into the drain line. The washer fills and drains at the same time only on the rinse cycle. Shut the machine off
with timer during this period and raise the drain hose. If the water
continues to drain, you will need to install an anti-siphon kit.
Hello , here is the fix-your drain hose is placed to low in the drain line in the wall, it can not be placed in water or it will siphon the water out of your washer into the drain pipe and it wont stop until it hits air. try pulling your drain hose up and out of the drain and get a zip tie or cable and tie it to one of the water valves by the drain pipe placing the end of the drain hose about 5-6 inches inside the drain pipe. Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck it will work.
