You have to remove the back cover of the machine using a screw driver. Locate the motor (placed at the bottom of the machine) of the tumbler and you will see the nuts (usually four nuts). You have to loosen/remove the nuts and remove the rubber gasket that is protecting the base of the tumbler. Then pull the tumbler out slowly.

If you're having a problem pulling out the tumbler, DO NOT force it. I would suggest to contact the manufacturer for assistance. Once the rubber gasket and plastic ring breaks, it would cost you $10 or higher just for the gasket.

Hope it helps and have a great day!

I see, most agitators are locked by the nuts on it. Once you loosen those rusty nuts, you should be able to remove the agitator. Most agitator has the nuts or screw on the center.

    Thanks for the clarification.

2005 Kawasaki VN 800 Vulcan Classic how to properly clean and seal a rusty fuel tank

Hi, Scott to properly fix fuel contamination issues you must start at the source the "GAS TANK" you will need to buy a gas tank rust remover and metal prep solution system, go online and research the different products available, stay away from rust converters and liquid Kreem liners, I recommend POR15 because it stops rust permanently you will also need some nuts and bolts ball bearings etc. and a service manual.
1. Remove the tank and drain all fuel and let dry.
2. Remove petcock and filter or fuel pump and filter.
3. Seal all openings except the top fuel filler opening with tape, plugs, or rubber *******.
4. Fill the tank with a strong solution of Dawn soap and water, seal the opening and shake vigorously for 1 minute and let sit for 30 minutes, remove the gas cap and pour out contents, rinse with a garden hose or pressure washer and let dry thoroughly.
4. Pour in 1/2 cup of nuts, bolts, ball bearings, etc. and seal the opening, shake vigorously for 2 minutes.
5. Open the gas cap and shake out all nuts and bolts along with dirt and rust, use a flashlight to inspect results and repeat as necessary until all rust is removed.
6. Following the directions of your rust remover product begin the procedure of removing residual rust, remember bare metal when dry will start to rust/oxidize immediately so make your last step a final rinse of solvent or kerosene anything that has a petroleum base, your first tank of fuel will mix with the residual solvent and not damage your fuel system.
7. Properly clean or replace all fuel filters, petcock, and fuel lines.
8. Remove and disassemble carburetor/s and properly clean all parts use a carburetor dip if necessary for the really bad ones.
9. For you injected folks use carb cleaner for the injectors and fuel rails and test with battery jumpers for proper function. If you're not in a hurry I recommend the services of

The spark plugs are rusty what could this be

If it's actual rust then you have water in the cylinder which means blown headgasket, cracked head or other engine damage.

Getting dc error code in rinse cycle, 13 min. before being done Have un-pluged and still getting code. Maytag FAV6800 LED washer, 5 years old.

Hello rdberg,

See this post Clutch Fix it has helped a few owners with the dC and uC unbalance errors with the FAV6800A and FAV9800A machines. You have a very common problem with a Clutch malfunction. The first part of the post has to do with the nuts and bolts of disassembly and Clutch maintenance or replacement of the Clutch Pulley.

In the last part of the post I go into just how to check the One-Way Rollers clutches to verify that are locking up. If they don’t this results in tumbler movement on Wash Basket spin up and the unbalance errors. If you are handy and have some basic hand tools you can get your machine back in service at low cost.

Post back if you have questions…..Rich

One of the thread tension plates is loose on my Juki TL-98Q and the bobbin thread is intermintently looping when stitching. The thread tension plates look rusty - I live in a very humid climate.

Hi there 1st of all i like to say please change the rusti tension plates, otherwise its not moving well & the boobin does not follow the alinment. For humidity control i suggest you fix an air condition system in your working room & make the place clean & dry. Thanks & waiting for your feedback.

Maytag FAV6800AW have replaced clutch and cleaned under tumblers. Machine will not balance. When rotating tumblers entrie drum rotates (during cycle). I removed drum and no leakage out bottom. Does this...

Let?s see if I understand. Are you in a wash/agitate cycle when this happens? If so is the wash basket rotating Clock Wise with the tumblers rotating (washer top raised for observation)? With A Spin Only cycle selected and some clothes in the wash basket. Raise the washer top from the base and observe the wash basket rotation. The wash basket will rotate CCW the spin direction. Do the tumblers rotate while the wash basket is rotating CCW? If so the load will go off balance. What series is your machine it will be the first two digits of your Serial Number i.e. 10 through 17. Was the original clutch replaced because of severe rust of the One-Way Roller clutches/bearing in the clutch Pulley assembly? Do you have the original clutch pulley assembly? Did your machine use the upper the One-Way Roller clutches/bearing ring? Your series number will help me but if you can confirm. I?ll try to help?.Rich

I have an 2001 Mercedes-Benz c240...What color should the coolant be that is used in this car. I paid to have it flushed but the coolant in it looks a greenish-brown this right? Not sure they...

Hi. apparently the mechanic did not rinse the contents out completely after the flushing was administered. During the flushing of a radiator, there may be a good amount of debris that will build up, due to the flushing compounds effect on the crude inside the radiator. This is why there should be a rinsing stage to clean out all that is removed, via the flushing procedure. If the rinse is not done correctly, some of the contaminates will be left behind to mix in with the new radiator fluid. The rust/debris will mix contaminate the new fluid that is poured in, thus, causing the brown color you have noticed.

Most radiator fluids will be green, or orange in color, but never brown or greenish brown. This greenish brown will indicate that there is some rust deposited that were not rinsed out properly, after the flushing of the radiator. I would return the vehicle to the mechanic to request a re-flush of the radiator. They should do it for free.

NOTE_ A more serious issue will be a damaged oil cooler. this will cause the same symptoms within the color of the fluid, if your vehicle is equipped with this device. Once the oil cooler has ruptured, it will cause the engine oil to be transfer into the radiator, thus, changing the color of the fluid.

I just replaced the tub displacement sensor on a Maytag Neptune TL and corrected UC errors, now the unit is stopping during the rinse cycle with a LL code regardless of the load size.

If it doesn't do this when spinning empty replace the clutch assy,it is actually the bottom pulley on the tub. the clutch doesn't lock the wash plates in place and they turn while the tub is spinning, but without a load it will spin fine.
