Question about DeLonghi Coffee Makers & Espresso Machines
First time out of the box & no steam comes out of the frother. No water either. It is set on steam. The green light is on indicating the device has reached proper temp, but when I turn the steam knob, nothing happens.
It may take a few moments to come through.. if you can't hear the pump operating, it may indicate the unit is faulty..

by frother you mean it puts out steam ? if yes then I need to know how long you hold down the button and have you checked the hose in back to see if it has cracks or is kinked?

I don't know about the burning business but I had the same problem with the steam wand. the first thing I did to solve this problem was to take small object like a needle or safety pen and insert it into the base of the steam wand. (I have feeling that most problems related to the steaming wand are due to deposits clogging the wand itself.) After I cleared out as best I could I used vinegar and water to help remove any calcium deposits. Sure enough, after inserting the needle into the wand steam began to flow again.

Not sure if this will help you or not. I have the CVA4075 built-in coffee maker. I had the same problem several times. You have to take apart the froth dispenser/intake hose and break it down into its individual pieces. Use manual for this. Then blow really hard thru each piece to loosen tiny stuck particles. Works every time. I tried descaling, cleaning, washing in dishwasher first, but to no avail.
