Question about HP Officejet 5610 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Will not scan at all.it just says to refer to documentation
Ok now if you have installed the software from the installation cd that came with the printer(green cd).
click on the hp solution centre icon on your desktop and click on settings now point to scan settings and click on scan to setup.
now move all the items from the left to the right hand side click onok/update the device and now try to scan from the printer and now you should not face the issue anymore.
If you have not installed the software then copy and paste the link below into your browser address bar and download the software and install it and then do the above and you will not face this issue anymore.

Many issues are caused when the HP All-in-One is connected to the computer using a USB cable before the HP All-in-One software is installed on the computer. If you connected the HP All-in-One to your computer before the software installation screen prompts you to do so, you must follow these steps: Troubleshooting common setup issues 1. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer. 2. Uninstall the software (if you have already installed it). 3. Restart your computer. 4. Turn off the HP All-in-One, wait one minute, then restart it. 5. Reinstall the HP All-in-One software. CAUTION: Do not connect the USB cable to the computer until prompted by the software installation screen.

Check whether the Digital Imaging Monitor is running .
If yes, good.
Now, please open HP Solution Center and setup the destination list .
Double click >> HP Solution Center >> settings >> scan settings and preferences >> scan to .. setup >>
Add all the entries from " available scan destinations " to "front panel destination list " >> click >> ok .
Now, try to scan from the front panel of the All-in-One .
