SOURCE: top thread breaking during sewing.

Your top tension may be too tight or it could be incorrectly threaded. Check threading and ensure you are using a good quality thread. Cheap threads breaks without a reason!

SOURCE: will not pick up bobbin thread

Unusual for this machine. Check to be sure the needle is inserted with the flat side to the back of the machine. If it is, remove the needle plate, bobbin and bobbin case. Turn the hand wheel slowly toward you and see if the point of the hook is above or below the eye of the needle when the hook point is aligned behind the needle. If the eye is above the point of the hook the machine is out of time and best taken to qualified technician.

Top thread keeps breaking

These are some causes. The thread guide has been missed so re-thread the machine. Tension is too tight. Needle is blunt or bent. Thread is getting caught on the rough edge of the spool so turn spool around. Hope this helps

I am having a problem with my Janome Decor Excel 5018. It was working fine, until the bobbin thread won't gather with the top thread. And the top thread is binding up underneath the fabric. Kim

try a new needle

rethread the machine top & bobbin, that way you make sure the thread is not caught anywhere

make sure the bobbin is correctly inserted in the machine

clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for loose thread & lint

always keep a long thread tail of 3 to 5 inches long, & keep the tails pulled back behind the needle
before sewing

if none of these things help the problem,, then it may need to be serviced

The machine thread keeps breaking

try rethreading the machine
the top thread tension might be to tight
needle may not be inserted into needle clamp correctly
thread could be caught on something like--spool pin--notch on spool
needle may be damaged

The top thread on my Janome 300E is getting caught in the bobbin. It starts bunching up on the back of the fabric that I am trying to embroider and it gets stuck. When I pull it off all the top thread is...

If your thread is getting caught underneath it's usually the UPPER thread is threaded wrong or not correctly through the tension discs. This can also happen if you're using Sticky Back stabilizer. Make sure you have a new needle in case there's a burr on the old one which can also cause this problem.

Clear bobbin out of thread

Memory Craft has a bobbin winder on top of the machine.  It works beautifully, but wind it on slowly for better sewing function.

Thread getting caught

make checks on the bobbin case that holds the bobbin beneath the machine it could be broken or too tight then you need to slacken it a bit so that thread can flow easy there after oil your oil the machine if the bobbin case lever is broken or bent replace it.also adjust tension disc.good luck.
