Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: acer aspire 6920 back to factory settings

Acer sent me these instructions.

The other way before Vista starts up is to tap ALT + F10 (at the same time repeatedly) when the computer is first switched on.. The window of opportunity is very small, so this may take a few attempts

Once you have tapped both the ALT and F10 repeatedly, you may see a screen showing:

“Edit Boot options for Microsoft Windows Vista”

If you see this, unfortunately, you have missed the window of opportunity, and you need to restart, and try again.

If you see this:
“Edit Boot options for Windows Setup” OR “Edit Boot options for Acer eRecovery”

Then it indicates that you have tapped the ALT + F10 correctly, and all you now need to do is press “Enter” and the Recovery program should load on your screen after a short pause..

In some cases, you may need to remove the battery (for notebooks only) and run the machine directly from the mains.

The Disk2Disk recovery feature allows you to recover the system without recovery CDs.

This will return your system to factory settings and will delete everything stored on the machine.
If possible we strongly advise backing up anything important on your machine before starting the recovery process.

Acer ICONIA TAB A500 FORGOT PASSWORD

Hi
To do a reset to factory defaults may be your only option, but this will delete all your private data, contacts, downloaded programmes etc etc that are stored on the tablet, and it will be exactly as it was when you first bought it.
To do a reset, follow the instructions here:
Use a small thin object (such as a paper clip) to press the
recessed reset button. If you look at the bottom of the phone it is No.1 as shown here:

25322248-sewlw4so5thuklqyeeksvzgz-3-0.jpg
Then a clean boot will restore the tablet to factory settings.
For more help, you can access a manual here:
http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Document/User%20Manual/User%20Manual_Acer_1.0_A_A.pdf?acerid=634558081604921091&Step1=TABLET&Step2=ICONIA%20A&Step3=A500&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=EMEA_27#_ga=1.72128663.585725472.1418601256
which is in pdf format and can be saved to a computer for future reference.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers

You may have to perform a reset if your tablet fails to respond when buttons are pressed or the screen is tapped. To reset your tablet use a small thin object (such as a paperclip) to press the recessed reset button.

Or do Clean Boot to restore the Acer Iconia Tab A501 factory default settings.
  • Open Settings from the application menu, then tap Privacy > Factory data reset.
  • Click Reset tablet and then Erase everything to format your tablet.

How to reset my computer type acer 500

If your computer is an Acer Iconia a500 Tablet PC, then it should have a recessed reset button on the side which you can press and hold with a stylus or a pen tip in order to restore the computer to factory settings (see below).

If this restore function does not work (for example if a password was installed as a Security Lock Out measure), then the reset function might not work unless you first enter the correct password.

If the reset function does not work and you cannot recall the correct password, you will have no option but to take the computer to an Acer Repair Center, where you will probably be asked to verify your ownership of the computer by producing documentary proof of purchase, before it will be accepted and booked in for factory resetting.

The following website might be of some assistance to you:
