Remeington 1100 rib barrel rear sight. Loose from end of barrel can this be fixed

Condition and caliber? That's a first year gun so should be 38-55. Is it full or half magazine? Take-down or solid frame? What but-stock rear end plate? t(sheesh, fixya!) Checkered or plain stock? Barrel length?

I'm sorry, but there are no published serial number year of manufacture information for the Model 1400. It was first introduced in 1964 and was offered in 12, 16 or 20 gauge with 26", 28" or 30" vent rib barrels. This Model was discontinued in 1981.

The new Model 1400 was introduced in 1989, was chambered for 12 or 20 gauge with either a 22" or 28" vent rib barrel.

The Model 1400 Ranger is a utility grade gun in 12 or 20 gauge, a 28" vent rib barrel, 24" slug barrel with rifle sights or a two barrel set. It was introduced in 1983.

The Model 1400 Quail Unlimited was introduced in 1993. It has a compact engraved receiver with a 26" vent rib barrel and checkered walnut stock.

The Model 1400 Ranger Deer Combo is a 12 gauge only with a 22" smooth barrel and a 28"vent rib with 3 win chokes.

Values for all are : excellent-$350, very good-$300, good-$250, fair-$200, poor-$125

Add 35% for the Plastic stock on the first model and 20% for 2 barrel sets.

Sorry I couldn't give you the year. The only way to get it is a factory letter from Winchester which will cost about $100.

I assume this is a bead front sight.

The broken stub needs to come out (a few are pressed in, but most are screwed in).

Then a new one can be installed.

Any COMPETENT gunsmith can fix that.

There are two sights on your BSA Meteor air rifle. One at the end of the barrel and one at the end of the stock. They should be set correctly when the gun was first made. You may want to buy a laser sight and see where the sights line up to then carefully bend the rear sight to line up correctly.

These ribs are made of heavy plastic and are screwed on from the outer portion of the drum. Remove the top and the front of the dryer to gain access to this ribs bolts and tighten

Remove the rear sight the receiver should be dove tail cut.Take a small hammer and tap the edges then you will have to tap the sight back in.This is how I fix then in shop,Good luck!

Most sporting goods stores have front sights for shotguns that have ribs.I use and recommend the Tru Glo front and rear sights
