Question about Samsung RFG297AARS (285 cu ft) Bottom Freezer French Door Refrigerator
My refrigerator is still making ice, but it will not dispense it because I can not switch back and forth from water to ice. It will dispense water but when you select ice it doesn't switch over. The touch screen options have also stopped working (energy saver mode, lighting, child lock etc) so I am guessing it is all connected but I don't know how or what to replace. Thank you!
I'm no expert but because of the problems I've had with this product, I'm getting better. It sounds like you need to replace the Dispenser circuit panel, part #DA97-07821N. It cost about $170.00. You need to remove the old panel. You do this by pulling forward (by hand only) on the display panel from its underside. You will notice a small rectangular hole on the right underside that is large enough for the tip of a wide flat blade screw driver. You can insert it here to assist in pulling the panel forward. Don't insert it too far, only enough to give you some purchase on the panel. Start pulling on this right side and work your way over to the left side being careful not to break the tabs that hold the panel in place. There are two tabs on the right and two tabs on the left and one at the middle top. Once you work out the two tabs on the right, the other tabs will release more easily. Once the panel is removed, it is just "plug & play." Just match up the wire connectors the same way they were on the old panel. When the new panel is connected, insert the panel on to the left tabs first making sure that the wires are tucked into place properly and not "pinched" then work your way over to the right side and pressing the panel on the edges (press around the edges only, don't press the LCD screen) to make sure the panel is seated securely on to the tabs on both sides and the top. turn on the water and plug it it and you should be good.

Testimonial: "Thanks! I'm gonna try this ASAP!"
The only thing I can think of is .. make sure it's not locked if not umplug it for about 5 min it should reset itself unless it have a resetting button somewhere ,sometimes resetting spot is a litlle hole that you can reset it with a pin check for it around the screen I know the ice machine has its own resetting this way also .good luck.

The only thing between the inlet line and the spout?
Water Inlet solenoid, a valve that lets water in. Follow the inlet line to the back of frige. Unplug and turn off water before service. repace valve. EZ FIX...

I had the same problem. Turned out to be a microswitch under the lever used to activate it. The microswitch fell from the original position so it wasn't turning on anything. I tried gluing into position but the fumes from the crazy glue messed up the switch and I had to replace the whole rig.
The part is under the control display. You can pry it open from the left side.

If you hear a clicking sound sometimes, it is your ice maker. Replace ice maker, all you need is a short phillips screwdriver. Remove ice bucket, to the left you will see a philllips screw holding a long plastic panel going all the way to the back, remove the screw and the panel, it has clips that slilde in, unplug ice maker and push down on tab on top of ice maker and pull out

The most common reason water stops are 1. The water line has frozen, but its not the part in the freezer door. Behind the crisper bins in the fresh food section, you might not see it but it behind the back wall. Heat up that area with a hair dryer, or if its not full shut it off for 24 hours and it will do the trick. 2. The pump that sends the water to the dispencer is dead, it will be located behind the ref lower left hand side behind panel (follow the water line) part # DA74-40149D, you can order it at marcone.com for about 27.00
Good luck, if those dont work let me know

SOURCE: Samsung RFG295AA Ice maker
You could try to Reset the ice maker. there should be a red button by the side of the icemaker. After
resetting, wait 24 hours and check if ice production has begun. please also check this very useful guide on how to get on otherwise.
If your ice maker still doesn't produce ice after following all of these suggestions, schedule your unit for service
