Question about Bosch Appliances 27 in. Wall Oven Electric Single

Open Question

What is the E302 code on the Bosch HBN8451 wall oven indicate?

Cooking in convection mode and an hour into bake, oven threw this code. Shut off breaker for 30 minutes, code was gone then ran again for about 45 minutes in various modes and when in convection, the code occurred again. In warrant, only in service for a few weeks but want to know what the code is all about.

FYI...problem occurred not in convection and it doesn't appear that the vent fan is running, front panel is getting pretty hot to the touch in comparison to the oven door too. Bosch service couldn't comment on the code meaning either, a tech needs to speak yo that and none were available

The above comment is an update. Problem has now occurred in both convection and normal bake.

FYI to all, the exhaust fan is dead. The controller is sensing higher than normal temps because e fan is not working, and shuts itself down...

New fan is on order...thanks for the suggestions but you all may want to realize that an error code usually means something specific is causing the code and set up to lead you or he service person to the issue

Fo example, if your car won't start and your low fuel light is on, there is a good chance that the problem is you don't have gas and that's where you'd investigate first...troubleshooting 101.

SOURCE: Double oven / convection not working

It is likely that the convection element is burned out and needs to be replaced. If all other functions are working then this is the place to start. Teh back panel inside of the oven can be removed by removing the 4 visible philips screws on it. The element should look smooth and round, if not then it needs to be replaced. Be sure to turn power off to the oven before replacing it. Remove the screws that fasten the element to the back wall and gently pull the element away from the wall an inch or so. the wires will be exposed and can be unclipped from the element do not let them fall inside of the back of the oven or you will have to remove the oven from the wall to get at the back panel. Install the new element in the reverse procedure. If the element looks good then it will have to be tested with a multimeter to verify that it is still good before proceeding to check the selector switch for burn marks.

SOURCE: bosch oven

looks as though youre circotherm element has blown (open circuit) you will need to remove oven and check with multimeter should read around 35-37 ohms on 2.5 kilowatt heater if open circuit will need replacing easy to do on most ovens and no too expensive around £30-£35 for element depends on model and output power.

hope this helps

F1 error code and beeps

Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

You need to proved me with the oven model number. This number is located on a metal plate, on the top front after you open the door.

The general code F1 indicates a communication problem within your control system.

The code F1 is different depending on the manufacture and model number.

When trying to thermal/radiant bake, convection fan at the rear does not stop turning after the preheat. Why doesn't this happen? Isn't it then convection baking?

Most wall ovens have a cooling fan that comes on when the oven has been on for some time. It is separate from the convection operation. It should shut off after the oven has been off for a time.

1c2c is on controls of jenn air wall oven. not working m#JMW8530DAS

We've had a Jenn-Air wall oven & microwave, Model #JMW9530DAS for 9 years. We never had any problems with it except for the irritating dust that collects between the oven glass. After returning from a 10 day vacation, we got a 1c2c error code when pressing "Bake." The oven worked fine before we left so we were baffled. We tried other settings like "Broil" "Convect" to no avail. It kept telling us to call for assistance. We tried shutting off the power to the unit for a few minutes but got the same 1c2c error again. So we called a local appliance repair shop (associated to the appliance store we purchased the unit from) and paid a fee to have him assess the problem. He really couldn't pinpoint the problem but suggested it "could be the membrane or the controller." And, to top that, he said Jenn-Air stopped making the membrane but they are going to start making them again and we could get one in 6-8 months at a cost of $500. So now we were looking at a $300 controller & possible $500 membrane....plus labor. We were so frustrated that we decided to tackle the problem ourselves before going out and buying a new oven. We shut the power off and tried pulling the oven out of the wall. Too heavy. After about 20 minutes of the power off, we turned it back on and decided to use the "SetUp" feature as if we were using the oven for the first time, following the directions in the instruction manual. We stepped through the process (clock, auto convect, language, C/F, etc...) then pressed the "Convect" button (instead of "Bake") and voila! It worked! After the Convection Bake Preheat worked successfully, we pressed "Bake" and it worked, too. We just saved ourselves over a thousand dollars as we were going to get rid of the piece of junk. So, before you give up, try turning the power off for a half hour & use the SetUp key and walk through the process.

F9 error code while using the convection baking function

This is a lock switch error code. Check wiring to door lock switch (the wire harness may be connected wrong). Check for stuck lock switch. If the switch cannot be re adjusted, it must be replaced.

Amana Convection oven not controlling temp

I have just checked the baking guide in the manual and have found that it may not be us after all. (Maybe this is why they telll us to read the whole manual. Well, I never have) According to the cooking time for Baking, the range is very extensive. For example, an angel cake at 350 could take from 28-50 minutes, buscuits at 375-400 could take 8-16 minutes, layer cakes at 350-375 could take 25-40 minutes, pound cakes at 325-350 could take 45-70 minutes and fresh pies at 400-450 could take 35-60 minutes. Basically, the baking directions on the box means absolutely nothing to use Amana oven owners. We have no choice but to cook our food or baked goods until they are cooked, whenever that may be. :) Linda
