I too recently had a problem signing into my Xbox Live account on the Xbox 360 after the latest security update. Microsoft has been "upping" their security protocols on all email accounts including those attached to Xbox 360 by requesting members to verify their Microsoft email accounts by requesting a Security "Code" that needs to be entered to validate their email address and password. Basically asking to confirm that the email account belongs to you and only you. This security is to protect members from their email accounts getting hacked into. This provided "code" by Microsoft is always sent to another email address you provide, or by them sending you a text message of the confirming "code" to your cel phone. (See picture) Once you receive this "code", you can enter it within the appropriate box and your email service, etc should be accessible both on your pc, etc and your Xbox 360. If you ignore the prompted requests eventually it will block you from opening your email even if you enter the correct password. Also, if your email address you entered into the Xbox Live account is a Hotmail, Bing or Live account, make sure that the option to have a secondary validation request is unchecked. (If you check the option even though it is provided by Microsoft as an extra security option, it conflicts with the Xbox settings. A Microsoft tech agent I spoke to about this problem confirmed this.)

Hi Sophia , I want to help you with your problem, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box?
When it prompts you after you try to sign in using your email address, is it rejecting the password you originally signed in as?
