I have a broaster that turns on but will barely heat the oil. Does anyone know what would be causing this?

Is it made by the Broaster Company or a spin off like a Henny Penny? Is it gas or electric? If by the Broaster Company would it be a 1800 or a 1600? Give me this information and than I can tell you what the problem is. Not an expensive fix either.

Broaster 1800 won't heat and has an arcing or grinding noise.

It is a professional pressure fryer, get it professionally serviced. The arcing is probably an internal contactor and the grinding some type of electrical solenoid lock or the filter pump. Very dangerous and work on 3 phase power.

I have a broaster fryer, and the pc board had burned out (possiblyt due to incorrect installation) need new board or can anyone fix it?

Replace the board. But first make sure the installation is correct. Then double check to see that the installation is correct.

Broaster 1800 machine is over shooting oil from top back steam valve and the valve that goes to little bucket in front

Dan,
Sorry, I am new to this site, and did not know about it until today. I am a Broaster distributor, and have the parts available. Couple questions if you have not resolved issue yet. Does your pressure guage work? If so how much does it read with about 8 pieces of chicken in a load?

Im having problems with my Model 1800 broaster. The pilot light goes out once in awhile. But, sometimes when the Heat light is on the burner is not burning but the pilot light is on. It will just stop

If the problems are as you describe, they are actually two separate problems and aren't related. If your unit was manufactured before 1999, it has a standing pilot that should stay lit all the time. If it is just droppiing out intermittently, check the J-Block circuit. That is the two wires that connect between the Hi Limit and a brass adaptor that the pilot burner thermocouple is plugged into. These are some fairly fine wires that as the unit ages become brittle. It is lilkely that they are making intermittent contact, which is causing the pilot to drop out.
If your burner is occasionally quitting when the pilot is still lit and the Heat On light is still on, you need to check the voltage from the control panel to the gas valve (assuming this is a solid state controlled unit). If the 120V is still present, the gas valve is at fault. If the 120V is not present (and the Heat On light is definitely on) then the controller is at fault. If this unit has a mechanical thermostat and timer, then the only cause for the burner dropping out while the Heat On light is on is either a bad gas valve or intermittent electrical connection between the gas valve and the thermostat.

I have a Broaster 1600-1800 electric model and it takes about 3 hours to heat up. The digital readout blinks on and off saying both lo and intermittently going completely blank. After it heats up the LED's...

If the digital display is going blank, but the Power On light is staying on, the problem has to lie in either the Controller Transformer or the Controller. To determine which, just check the voltage at the 2 red wires that go from the Controller Transformer to the back of the circuit card. That should read around 26VAC whenever the Power On light is on. If the voltage is still present when the Controller goes blank, then the problem lies in the Controller. Contact The Broaster Company through their website, www.broaster.com, and call the Service Department. They can easily provide a Service and Parts Manual to you, as well as help you troubleshoot your problem. Good luck and I hope this helps.
