Question about Hyundai 2013 Elantra Limited
When I am on a call on my IPhone 5S and I start my car the phone connects to my car via Bluetooth but it shows it in handset mode and the handsfree button is grayed out. if I go to my IPhone and select Elantra the other party can't hear me and nothing comes over the speakers or the mic. When I end the call the screen shows the contact that I was on the phone with and how long the call was. after that handsfree works fine. when I am on a call and turn off the car it transfers to the phone. I have reset the radio and I have also reset my phone to factory settings as a new phone and deleted everything for my Iphone 5S from the car. I repaired the phone with my car. When I made a test call and then got into my car and started it the same thing happened! any ideas on how to fix this? This started after the IOS upgrade to 7.0.6. I am on 7.1.1 now.
It almost sounds as if the upgrade was for a different device; but nevertheless; I would get back to the manufacturer with this question for a resolution. They evidently have a code error and this will effect several others and need a fix. If they already know of the error; they may have a fix for you.

Testimonial: "'Dayton Computer thank you for your advice!!! I had a diamond service manager and a team working on my car for over 4 hours with a ton of types of phones and different versions and models and ALL did he same thing. I was thinking the same thing after i left the dealership which i did calll and get a case number and it was being expedited by Hyundai to their own engineering department so i can give them anything that i find out from Apple to call them and let them know, usually at this point i would let them battle it out together and not be in the middle because I hate to be the middle man but in any case but i am not going to give either my contacts so i can get and post all information i get from both companies here for everyone who is having a problem and what either Apple or and Hyundai are doing. There is a website www.HyundaiBluetooh.com that allows you to pick your car, the year, the phone, the phone model, and it shows what software it supports like next to the Apple IPhone 5S it show (IOS 7.0.4). My good friend from Apple support who is an actual a Tier 4 Supervisor conferenced me in with their engineering department and we went through IOS 7.0.4 thru 7.1.1 and there are NO CHANGES to BLUETOOTH in any of them. This is something that either Hyundai or Hyundai and Apple will have to work on together. Only time will tell! I am testing the waters about the Siri Eyes Free System becoming available in all the 2013's models for free, a fee, or not at all. I think Hyundai would save a lot more money by just upgrading the 2013's for free instead of spending thousands of dollars in replacing the head units and then refurbishing them to put in everyone's car who comes in for this problem because that is exactly what they are doing! We don't get Brand New Units they are REFURBS! My dealership left my old unit in. As soon as I hear from Apple and Hyundai in the coming week I will update this for everyone and let you know where I stand in Florida and if Hyundai and/or APPLE are doing something. I do know that it's a BLUETOOTH problem across the board with all brands of cell phones and Hyundai's so I am sure Hyundai will have a fix soon for it. My step father works for Chrysler as a manager and he hears about this same thing all day long. He says more people come in complaining about music streaming and Bluetooth not working yet they have bad tires and actual problems with their cars and are only worried about the phone! LOL. Well I will let you all know what I hear! IF anyone has any input or suggestions please let me know!"
