How to replace power cord on kitchenaid k4-b?

Take the four screws off that separate the top of the mixer from the stand, they are just above the handle that locks the bowls up when mixing.once you get the top off you will see where the wires connect to,simply disconnect the wires, remember which colors go where, because when you put the new cord on you will need to know where each color goes,it pretty straight forward, once cord is screwed in,put top of mixer back together and the screws are evenly tight.plug it in and mix away,if there's no power orbit sparks unplug right away and check wires ,to make sure you got in right spot and they are tighten down all the way.

Kitchenaid mixer K4-B cord replacement

Well you did well for never taking a mixer apart before, the only thing i would say is that you made a serious mistake with the lithium grease. KA uses a food safe grease that will not get anybody sick when it drips into the food being mixed. As to replacing the cord on current mixers (since 1978) all is done right at the rear opening now.

Can a K4-b model be fitted with a K45 bowl?

No, it can not. I have the same k4b mixer and ive been researching the very same question as the k4b bowl is hard to find. The problem is that the k4b uses a small threaded mount stub centered at the bottom of the bowl and the newer design uses a much larger recessed well which is threaded to accept the threads on the bottom of the K45 bowl. Im thinking I might cut the base of the k4b and fit the bowl mount hardware pt no. w10191926 and use the paddle, whisk and dough hook designed for the K45 bowls shape.

Where can i find a hobart k45 replacement cord

You can purchase a replacement power cord from Amazon.com. It is part number 9701025 and includes the grounding style plug which the original did not have. It can also be purchased from your local Sears parts store but it will be much more expensive

Firstly get a new cord. Then remove the trim plate and then the end cover. Remove the rubber grommet and then the three cables from the clips. Replace with new cord.

Hi. Before you take your mixer apart, take a multimeter and test for continuity in the cord. Wiggle the ends of the cord while you're doing this in an attempt to make the cord fail. If it tests out OK, then you must get inside the mixer. If you have the ability to repair the mixer then do so, otherwise take it to a repair place for them to check it out.

Goto www.kitchenaid.com, enter your model # and search for the parts catalog for your mixer. Download the info. This will help you with the project

If this solution has assisted you, please rate it. Good luck! ricardok45
