yes...check the check valve. A one-way directional valve, this part is also known as a DUMP valve. It opens when too much pressure builds in the hand wand (when not spraying water) in order to protect the pump, by returning the high pressure to its source reservoir. I suspect the DUMP valve is stuck in open condition (or nearly open).

Dear mike husband,
One reasin for this fault could be a damaged lance or turbo lance. Try by replacing with new ones. If the problem is not solved, then the fault is due to a damaged spill valve. The spill valve could easily be damaged by using not suitable chemical or detergents. After using chemical detergents, one must always rinse the machine by passing pure water. The spill valve could also be damaged by leaving the machine for a long time with pressure in the system. One must never store such machines with pressure still inside. Always press the gun before storing.
Well the solution is to change the spill valve with a new one. In some cases even faulty suction valves can give this problem. But in the majority of cases it is the spill valve.
If you do not know how to fix this problem, it is better to be done by an expirienced technician.

I have the same problem. With mine I have to remove the tip that I am using then pull the trigger and then replace the tip and pull and pressure should return. I believe that one of my valves is sticking causing me to reprime the pump frequently. I am trying to clean or replace my valves to fix the problem.
I hope this helps.

It sounds like a motor capacitor burned up. Alternatively, a wire could have vibrated loose from the capacitor. Look, but do not touch the capacitor(s), as they can hold a charge that can hurt -- or even kill you.
The trick is to be certain they are discharged before handling. To do this, use a screw drive with a well insulated handle and touch the top of the capacitor where the wires are. The metal blade of the screw driver should touch both sides of the capacitor at the same time. Then, if there is any charge being stored, you will see a pop and that's it -- it is not discharged.
You can buy a new capacitor at any place that sells AC and Refrigeration supplies. Take the old one with you so they can match the microfarad capacity. Just venturing a guess here, but if you want one that fits perfectly back into place you may have to order it from Karcher (because those units are built in Europe I think).
2. The motor may have shorted (gone bad). If that has happened, perhaps you have some warranty. Electric motors are generally warranted a little longer than the PW in general. With Karcher, I don't know. If there is no warranty on the motor, it may be better to buy a new pw than to replace the motor.
3. The problem could be a mechanical issue with the pump/unlooader. However, I would think this would be the least likely scenario.
If what I've given so far doesn't get you rolling in the direction of being resolved, please followup here. I'll be watching. And if it does get you moving in the right direction, please take a sec to rate me. Thanks!
