Replacing the ''wood'' in the top(ceiling) of a pop up camper. Cant seem to find a correct listing for this in the menu.-----------but this is for a Tracker pop-up camper. It started leaking around the roof ac and the previous owner let it go. So, we have rotting wood that needs to be replaced which is probably the entire roof ---------removing the ac- outside skin, inside skin, unbolting from the risers? Any thoughts, and or help?

I would suggest getting a price on the entire roof assembly from a dealer depending on age these roofs can be lminated togehter ang removing the skin car cause strustural damage to the camper roof it is common practice to stop the leak remove most of the wet wood and overlay what is left standing sounds bad but only way to fix cosmetcally if you need to soarce parts do a search for all right manufacuring they supply celing and metal for most camper manufacures

I have a 1981 rockwood camper popoup recently started leaking ,i have damagae inside camper(ceiling).also repair outside as well and latches& roof need to be fi.what do i do?

First thing you want to do is to find the source of the leak(s) and seal it to prevent further damage, and if not possible to get it inside, at least get a tarp over it to stop further moisture from entering. In all honesty, they are not real difficult to repair, you just need a place to remove the roof in order to replace damaged parts. Easiest way is to remove it from trailer, and go from there. If outside and sides as well as ends are still good and solid, then it's just a matter of replacing ceiling panels, which wouldn't require removing roof, but by sounds of it, if latches are falling off, and wood is rotten behind them, it may be time to rebuild sides etc. Let me know how bad it is, and include some pictures if possible, and we can guide you through it. Be sure to take pictures before, for your own reference when re-assembling.

Coleman bayside 1997 pop up camper, had to remove some motor part related to cranking up. won't stay up unless motor part is put back in. help? female with trouble and wanting to camp this weekend

Sounds like the motor also holds up the top.
can you try to use something loke a broom stick thick piece of wood to hold up the canopy top till you get a chance to get a new motor.
You would prop up the top with a piece of wood right in the same area as the framing.
Tie a piece of string or bungee cord to hold the stick in place,to ensure the top dosent come down on you.
You might need to cut the stick to leanth as well as using more than one piece of wood.
Gool luck,Gary

I have a jayco pop up camper with a Duo-Therm BriskAir roof top a/c. im having problem with it leaking water inside of the camper? Is there a drain hose? Or wat do u think is wrong? Thanks

Yes there are drain holes in base of upper unit (on roof), which may be plugged. Couple of questions though to see if we can better troubleshoot this for you.
-Do you remember seeing water (condensation) running off roof before when AC was used?
-Have you cleaned filter inside at ceiling lately?

Did you purchase a new Ducted Ceiling Unit with the Upper Unit air conditioner? If you are replacing an older mach 3, the ducted ceiling packs are not compatible and you will need to purchase the ceiling pack as well. The ducted ceiling pack part number for the 8333 series Mach III AC is below.

1. Heat/Cool Air Distribution Box - 8330B735
2. Cool only ADB - 8330A733
3. Wall Thermostat (if needed) - 7330G3351

Hope this helps.

Wood Lining to Folding camper is wet

the best solution is to remove the spongy wood and replace with marine plywood

one possible fix is to glue(liquid nails) 4x8 vinyl sheets(used for bathroom walls and ceilings) over the spongy wood you should also determine where the support ribs are located and use rust proof exterior ( like deck screws) and put a washer through the screw and screw through the vinyl and sponge wood into the rib/stud to secure the vinyl do this about every 10 inches on the supports

finally caulk the edges and seams and put a lattice type of slat(1inch wide by 3/8 thick by 8 ft long on all exposed seams

tools needed small gig saw variable speed drill
caulking gun
