Question about Scotts Company Scotts 73730 AccuGreen 3000 Deluxe Drop Spreader

1 Answer

How big should the opening be for each setting (the distance between the peak of the triangular hole and the sliding cover)?

I don't want to calibrate by putting in a weighed amount and seeing how much was spread over a measured area. I just want to set it up the way it probably came from the factory. I think some parts may have gotten stretched over the years.

I found the answer to my question on another web site. There is a calibration line on the bottom of the sprader that the cuttoff bar should align with at the setting of 6. A nut can be turned to adjust the setting.

Why does autofocus keeps moving in and out on some slides

The autofocus system isn't really "autofocus". It is a measuring system - you manually focus the first slide, which sets the distance from the front of the slide in the gate to the back of the projection lens. By the focus motor moving the projection lens, subsequent slides will maintain that same distance. Continuous focus adjustment suggests that:
1> The curvature of the slide is changing because of the varying heat absorption rate of the transparency.
2> The autofocus system is out of calibration.
3> The autofocus system has a bind (it is being restricted from free operation).
About the only thing a user can do is to make sure ALL slides are oriented the same way in the tray. Beyond that, you will need a service manual and 2 or 3 specialized tools. Parts and tools can be purchased from: www.micro-tools.com

Good Luck !! jim

Kodak carousel 760h projector

The auto-focus system in Kodak slide projectors is really an auto-measurement system: One set manually, the system is supposed to maintain that distance on all subsequent slides. Correct orientation of the slides is that they are all placed in the slide tray in the SAME direction (the matte side of the transparency facing toward the screen). The measurement is from the FRONT of the slide transparency to the BACK of the projection lens. REPAIR calibration of the system requires 2 special tools: a RANGE SLIDE and a TARGET SLIDE. These tool slides and the calibration procedure SHOULD be available from: www.micro-tools.com They purchased all remaining repair parts from Kodak when Kodak stopped supporting slide projectors. Good Luck !! Jim

My softail doesn't pick up when opening the gas handle. Cleaning the carb didn't help

Remove the air filter cover and the air filter so that you can see into your carb. Start the engine and allow it to warm up a bit. Keep your face a safe distance from the carb and rev the engine moderately. Watch to see if the slide moves up and down. If it does not move, you may have a hole in the vacuum diaphragm that controls the slide and it's not allowing your slide to be raised. If the slide is moving, your main jet is probably clogged. You'll have to remove the float bowl and the jet and clean it out. Check the slow speed jet as well. It's in a hole just to one side of the main jet holder. Also notice whether or not you see a squirt of fuel come out of the brass nozzle just inside of the mouth of the carb. If you do not see the fuel squirt into the carb when you open the throttle, you accellerator pump diaphragm may need to be replaced. It's located under a plate on the bottom of the float bowl.

Good Luck

On side of camera there is a switch setting is two peaks is up tulip down what are they for please

These are general focus settings. The tulip usually means "Macro" or extreme close up, and the two peaks is "Landscape" for distance shots. There should be a setting in between for taking foreground shots of people.

Harley has been moving stuff around since 2000. They should be either under the seat or behind the triangular panel on the left side of the bike as far as I know.
