The 7004 error may be caused by windows system files damage. The corrupted windows system files entries can be a real threat to the well being of your computer.
There can be many events which may have resulted in the system files errors. An incomplete installation, an incomplete uninstall, improper deletion of applications or hardware. It can also be caused if your computer is recovered from a virus or adware/spyware attack or by an improper shutdown of the computer. All the above actives may result in the deletion or corruption of the entries in the windows registry. This corrupted registry will lead to the missing and wrongly linked information and files needed for the proper working of the application.

Advanced Computer User Solution (manual restore):

1) Start your computer and log on as an administrator.
2) Click the Start button then select All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then click System Restore.
3) In the new window, select "Restore my computer to an earlier time" option and then click Next.
4) Select the most recent system restore point from the "On this list, click a restore point" list, and then click Next.
5) Click Next on the confirmation window.
6) Restarts the computer when the restoration is finished.

Bios password dell E4310

the BIOS password is not set by the vendor it is usually set by the user unless pre-built otherwise.

unfortunately there is no easy way to find out your BIOS password as this affects how the machine works.

all desktops but only some laptops have a 3 pins near the BIOS chip with a jumper on it, switching it to the other two pins clears any CMOS setting including the BIOS password, but not all laptop vendors do this.

HP like to make you boot in to DOS to recover your service tag so they can provide you with a unique password for you.

Continuous beeping noise on boot up

Sounds like you have a bad memory chip or one of the memory slots is bad.

Remove the Power Cord, Remove the battery, Remove the cover that houses the memory on the bottom of the laptop then remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

Cache test failure

One of your devices has failed could be the memory or a device that is externally plugged in if you have any remove them. If you have never worked with laptops before this is the time to take it in for repair or find someone that knows how to fix them. John

My Compac Presario CQ40 latop doesnt boot and caps lock and number lock key blink once every 2 seconds

I would try just the simple things first like removing one of the memory chips at a time to see if that's the problem.

It appears that the computer is attempting to boot to a network instead of your hard drive. One possible cause of this is that the hard drive is no longer bootable (may have been formatted, loosely seated or the boot sector/OS was damaged by a virus or failed update).

First thing to try is go to the system setup. Almost every system has its own unique System Setup program which you can access by pressing Delete while the computer is starting up (F1 or F2 for older Toshiba Satellite models). Once there, you'll have to look for settings that say something like "PXE/LAN Boot ROM" or "Boot to LAN" (once again, it may be different depending on the brand & model) and make sure it's set to "DISABLED".

You may also have to look for "Boot Configuration" or "Boot Sequence" and check to make sure that the hard drive (may be listed as "Hard Drive", "HDD" or its serial number) is selected as the first boot device. If the PXE or LAN Boot ROM is listed there, set it to DISABLED as well.

After that, just save the changes and exit and allow the computer to start up.

There's a good chance that it will boot normally again. Otherwise, it will exhibit the symptoms that will help figure out why iot couldn't boot to the hard drive in the first place.

Im wondering if there is supposed to be a big magnet on my safety key for my eks treadmill because i went away for the weekend and had house sitters in and i returned to turn my treadmill on and its not...

Shannon-

Yes, EKS uses a magnet in the safety key for their treadmills. You may be able to find replacement magnet at your local hardware store. A dab of glue and you're all set. There are also a numerous online retailers that will sell a replacement EKS safety key. A google search will reveal a number of options.

Screen won't come on

*** IF YOUR HP LAPTOP IS A "DV" SERIES WITH"GRAPHICS BY NVIDIA" ***
(Example - "HP Pavilion dv2000", "dv6000", etc.)
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:
ALL of the "DV" series have a serious problem due to an inefficientHEAT SINK, which is shared between the video chip & CPU. Video failure is inevitablegiven enough time. To verify if your Nvidia Graphics Chip has failed, FIRST - takea look at the other solutions postedhere, which are excellent troubleshooting techniques. You won't see any dimmed video (backlight / inverterproblem) AND you won't get any video by connecting an EXTERNAL DISPLAY either. You will see all the pretty blue lights, but NO VIDEO... nowhere, no how...L OK - IF THIS IS YOUR PROBLEM, READ ON... Almost all of these chip failures can be fixed by RE-FLOWINGthe solder connections, both internal to the chip, and external to themotherboard. THIS PROBLEM IS SO COMMON, that without further ado, I'mgoing to direct you to a couple of YouTube posts (there's TONS of 'em on thisproblem with solutions ranging from ridiculously stupid to way too extravagant& complex for the problem at hand. LET ME JUST SAY THIS: I've fixed several of these so farwith 100% success just by heating the chip with a small butane torch for short intervals.Don't try to go too fast, just slowly raise the temp to where solder will flow.Using a small pencil torch will give you the precision needed to get the jobdone, WITHOUT all the elaborate shielding techniques that you might see is someof these vids.
