Question about Transmission & Drivetrain for Pontiac Grand Prix

Can a bad PCM cause P0741 code on 07 pontiac grand prix?

07 Pontiac GP with 170k miles, transmission recently rebuilt by reputable shop. Keep getting p0741 code (tcc stuck on/off cant remember) The shop has worked on the car 4 times including the original rebuild and supposedly changed all solenoids, checked all trans wiring, including putting in a new wiring harness and I got the car back yesterday with the same code. Drove the car, and it did fine for a couple miles, stopped and car immediately stalled. It did this 5 more times in less than a mile. Got it home and it does it every time it is put in drive, unless you two feet it & hold gas & brake at the same time. Now the tranny shop says (by phone) it is probably the PCM/TCM not sure which or if the TCM is part of the PCM. I know this will have to be programmed by a dealer. Can this be the problem or something else possibly overlooked this many times? Note - every time I got the car back in the past, the code is present but the car has drove & shifted mostly good for about a month at a time, then slips very bad, I take it back, he has said 2nd gear has been "burned up" at least two times. This has been going on at least 6 months now and I am at the end of my rope with this thing.

Engine light came on 2005 pontiac grand prix 130000 miles owners manual said bad gas or emission system did diagnostic check thru onstar they said cooling system. gauges are normal heat range

Is there a way to get OBD codes for the problem? You can usually get them read at a local auto store or repair shop. Most likely if you are not experiencing noticable problems it is probably just emissions, but I would get your code read just in case.

I have 1998 pontiac grand prix with a leaking power steering. what could be the problem?

Bad seal in pwr steering pump or rack could be leaking or one of the hoses. Have a reputable shop or mechanic look at it for you and don't put it off, if it fails when driving it could lock up and cause an accident.
