Question about Washing Machines
Wonder if you are overloading the machine and the noise is the drive belt screeching. if it sounds similar to a loose fanbelt on a car, it could be drum bearings that are seizing up (check by manaually rotating the drum. if it spins freely its ok) or the drive belt is getting worn and needs replacing

This sounds like the min bearings have gone, open the door and see if there is any play up and down on the drum. if so its the bearing if not it could be something that has fallen from a pocket and got stuck between the metal clothes drum and the oute drum casing. a take apart job i am afraid for both issues.

hotpoint Wd440. I had the same problem, lights flashing and water not draining, First drain your water (syphoning works but tastes ****), if the machine drains then you know its not blocked. Then put the machine on M for about 5 mins, then put it on fast spin. This should do the trick, it worked for me anyway. Good luck.

Several possible reasons for this. M/C not level, causing it to move about.
Overloading of m/c.
Loose concrete balance weight, there is one at top and one at bottom.
Suspension spring broken or unhooked.
Suspension leg loose or broken.
Main drum bearings worn, to check this, turn drum by hand and if it feels noisy or rough , then bearings have gone (expensive repair).
There are other possible causes, but these are the main reasons.
Plz rate my solution.
