Question about Televison & Video
Philips 46PFL7007T and Humax soundbar. Connect using optical lead and built in freeview works fine but all the other outputs give a screeching interference noise. Headphone lead works fine, but would rather use optical.
Please check this link to download its user manual in PDF. See its specifications page, to know whether the TV has an optical out socket, to take out optical out signal from it. If yes, you can find the exact way. If not, it is impossible. Gopakumar Gopalan Google

SOURCE: Connecting laptop audio to tv
i had the same issue with a thinkpad T61 which i was connecting using VGA and a audio jack going straqight from the headphone socket to the back of tv.
I had picture but no sound and i found that once connected the issue could be solved by rotating the projection setting on the laptop(Fn+F7). Basically switched back to laptop only display, then back to laptop and projector display again and teh sound just kicked in.
i think it's related to the projector setting on the laptop rather than an issue with the tv.

I also got a black screen! I then turned the TV off, pressed TV and while it was lit, quickly pressed info, menu and then mute. Then switched the tv back on and amazingly......the menu was there. Go to item 12 and reset. I am please to say that we are back in business,
