If you do a Factory Restore, all the data on your system will be lost. We would recommend that you backup all the data you need before attempting a Factory Restore. Once you've ensured that there's nothing else you need to backup, follow the steps mentioned below to perform a Factory Restore: 1. Reboot your system. 2. As soon as it starts booting, keep tapping the 'F11' key on the keyboard. 3. This should start the Product Recovery program. 4. On the Product Recovery program Main Menu, select 'Full recovery' or 'Factory contents' and follow the instructions on the screen. One key rescue system, you need a pdf reader to read the file, no 560p available model, please backup your files before doing that on a external support.

SOURCE: i have lenovo z560 Corei5

Hello,
for years companies used to give DVD's with the factory image in it. It is used these late years not to give DVD but have the image saved on a partition in the hard drive and giving you the option to make an image of Windows and applications in a DVD.
So now that you cannot have your old hard drive, you can find a DVD/CD of windows, it must be the same edition with your Windows label product key under the laptop (e.g. Vista Home Premium English, 7 Professional Spanish) and you can get drivers from Lenovo's website and the utilities also.
As long as you cant find a DVD of windows from a friend, you can contact Microsoft to send you one, maybe with a small fee.

Trying to find my sd card slot on my lenovo sl510

Unfortunately it's not something that can easily be found as we cannot see what you see?
A quick google search has lead me to believe it is on the right hand side of your laptop, near your CD drive, it is a small slot that could be covered with a plastic covering (it protects from dust)

Please turn off the computer, start hitting F8 at the start-up and then choose last known good configuration. If this does not work, choose Safe mode options.
If still does not work, please try to restore the computer to factory settings. But, this will delete all of the data/files. http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-4VFUDU

Sl510 keyboard and mosuse not working; on screen keyboard and remte mouse works. Any recommendaton?

You will need to replace the keyboard, but since there is a mouse problem also, I recommend the laptop be checked for motherboard damage by a computer repair shop. What ever moisture got in will need to be cleaned up.

When i turn it on it looks like its going to load then the screen goes black and stays like that

Hello.

Either you have a memory issue or operating system problem.

First, disconnect all cables. Be certain to dispel static electricity by touching metal. Remove the memory cover. Try reseating (removing and reinserting) your memory (try one module at a time to test).

If still a problem, boot your system to Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly). Go to System Restore and choose a date when your system worked OK. Note: with System Restore, everything, including your documents and other files you saved on the hard drive, will roll back to that date.

If still a problem, the last choices are Factory Restore and reinstall. Accessing Factory Restore (restores to the factory settings and will wipe out anything that you have installed or saved on your PC), is dependent on your hardware manufacturer. Boot your system and press F10, F11, Alt+F10, or Ctrl+F11 to access Factory Restore. Follow the prompts.

If still not resolved, you'll probably need to reinstall your operating system.

Hope this helps.

For Lenovo S10 to restore to factory settings follow the steps below:-

  • Turn off your Lenovo. (i mean shut down and make sure it’s power off)
  • Now press on the “One Key Recovery” key at the top of your Keyboard, your Lenovo S10 should boot up. Else hold down the “One Key Recovery” key until it boot up.

  • Now you may choose “Restore to factory settings” from the screen and proceed for the restoration.
** the restoration will first check if your windows files has been corrupted, if yes, then it will restore it to the original state and no restore is required. else it will continue with the restoration
