My Kenmore 70088 Air Conditioner have mold

Hello, the coils can be cleaned with coil cleaner that is sold at any heating and cooling store, usually in a aerosol can. The inside of the AC can be cleaned with soap and water. They also sell a cleaner for mold at heating and cooling stores that can be used to get rid of the mold.

My air conditioner dwc 084 rl model does not work well, can not maintain a temperature below 70

The air is cool but doesn't seem cold enough If the air doesn't seem cool enough it is necessary to use a thermometer to check the difference in temperature between the air going into the unit and the air being blown into the room. Ideally, the temperature difference should be more than 15 degrees. For example, if the temperature going into the air conditioner is 80 degrees, the temperature coming out of the unit should be at least 65 degrees or less. If the difference is 15 degrees or more there is probably no cause for concern. If the temperature difference is less than 15 degrees you should check the following:
  • Air damper
Check to make sure the air damper is closed. If it's open, it will bring in outside air and reduce the efficiency of the unit.
  • Back cover
During the winter season many people cover their air conditioners to protect the unit from the weather. In the spring or summer they will sometimes forget to remove the cover. If your unit has a cover on the outside portion of the air conditioner remove the cover first.
  • Condensing coils
The condensing coils will always be on the "warm" side of the air conditioner. That is, on the side that faces outside of the room to be cooled. Air is drawn into the back of the air conditioner on the sides through vent slots and is blown directly out through the condenser coils. If the coils get clogged with lint, dust and dirt the cooling system cannot provide the cooling necessary. To clean the coils it will be necessary to remove the entire cover of the air conditioner or pull it out of the wall to gain access to the coils. They can be cleaned by blowing compressed air at them or by using a soft bristle brush to wipe the dirt off. It is important to also clean any dirt or lint build-up in the bottom of the air conditioner so the condense water will be picked up by the condensing fan slinger properly.

It could also mean that you are trying to cool too big an area for the size of the unit.
AREA TO BE COOLED / CAPACITY (BTU/HR)

100 to 150 square feet = 5,000
150 to 250 square feet = 6,000
250 to 300 square feet = 7,000
300 to 350 square feet = 8,000
350 to 400 square feet = 9,000
400 to 450 square feet = 10,000
450 to 550 square feet = 12,000
550 to 700 square feet = 14,000
700 to 1000 square feet = 18,000

Model # 25372055201 When you turn on Air

Hello, clean the evaporator coil with a coil cleaner spray that you can buy at any heating and cooling store, if cleaning the coil does not help looks like the unit has a low refrigerant charge and will need to be recharged. A quick test you can do is measure the air entering the evaporator coil and leaving th evaporator with a thermometer, find the differance, it should be 15-20 degrees on a normal working ac. If it is below 15 the unit is umdercharged.

My air conditioner cooling coils get frozen approx\.after 2 hrs of running i have showed it to the service boy they first serviced filled gas and even changed the fan motor. but still the problem...

Hello, the evap coil will freeze from either low airflow or low charge. I would clean the coils, check air filter and replace or clean if dirty. If you have a thermometer measure the air entering the ac and the air leaving the ac, the differance should be 15-20 degrees, measure this after cleaning the coils. If it still is below 15 degrees the unit is underchraged.

I use a spray nozzel on my water hose to clean out the oustide coil. You can go to a local Hvac parts store and get a cleaning gun and foam to clean the coil. I just use my water hose and sprayer with arm and hammer baking soda.

Ilet the filter on my unit get clogged and it quit cooling. after i cleaned the filter it still doesn't cool.

"If your dirty filter caused your problem,' it was because it restricted the air flow across the cooling coil. Often if the filter is clogged then the air will divert around the filter itself - and clog the cooling coil too, in which case you will need to clean the cooling coil.

The cooling coil is looped in a coil (hence the name) and is comparable to a car radiator. You will need to clean the fins (that are entwined around the coil) so that air - can flow unrestricted, over the coil.

This can usually be accomplished with a brush of some sort. Often you can use your fingers to peel the moist mat of hair and dirt off the front of the coil.

The problem (usually) is getting to the coil, because once you get to it - it generally is not that hard to clean. Your goal is make sure air flows thru the fins and over the coil - unrestricted of dirt, hair, or whatever.

Remember - many things can cause an AC unit to 'not cool' besides the filter being dirty - which is why I prefaced my answer with 'if your dirty filter caused your problem'

Good Luck!

LG LWHD8000RY6 Air Conditioner Not Cooling Room

Remove the front cover of the unit to expose the cooling coil. Put the unit on and observe if there will be formation of frost (ice) on the coil. If there's frost formation, the common cause is dirty cooling coil. Have it cleaned using an alkali base coil cleaner. If the coil is clean, then the problem is the fan motor. It might be turning slow due to copper loss. Have it replaced.
