some burners can only use certain formats for burning to. For example, CD Burners may only be able to use CDRs, and not CDRW (RW is rewriteable). DVD Burners may only be able to use DVD+R, or DVD-R, not able to use DVD+or-RW at all, or you might be trying to use DVDRAM. Have a look at the specs listed in the user manual, and go from there.

you may be having conflicts with usb devices. try temporarily removing all unnecessary devices from the usb ports. unplug and then plug the drive back in. you could try another port. if all ports are in use, then unplug another device, like the mouse and plug in to that port, then plug the mouse into the writers port. i had a similar problem with a wireless usb lan that stopped another device from being recognised. when i removed the lan and replugged the unrecognised device, windows recognised it. i obviously had to use the wireless lan, so i swapped that with the mouse and it worked.

Nothing to worry about, it all depends on what type of disc is in the drive at the time.

first check your cd/dvd writer and then install cd/dvd burning software like nero cd burner itc

I've had the same problems. some writers don't recognise certain dvd formats.I've even had the problem with a multi drive. So try different formats till your drive recognises one and stick to that format. I hope that works for you

if the recognized it then the wizard will not appeared. u need to install application software for burner like nero, alcohol etc

use some other burner applicaton like nero burning rom.

my burner on my xps 400 computer does not recognise a blank disk so it keeps asking to put in a blank when there is one there it does seem to recognise factory cd s any suggestions?
