SOURCE: Where can i get a McCulloch Chainsaw (Weedeater Poulan) starter pulley, item number 530057890? Places I have found dont ship to the U.K.

I can only offer a place to check on this. The name of the place is C and S Tractor Supply in Mankato, MN. If you contact them I bet they would at least be able to send you the right direction. If you look them up on the internet they are located on Riverfront street.

SOURCE: i have a brand new ryobi c4618 chainsaw. only used couple times. well chain came off and i put it back on but it doesnt move. almost like brake on but its not. any ideas?

When the chain comes off it will damage the drive links ( burr the sides ) if the burrs are not removed the chain will be tight in the bar grove and stop it moving, you need to file the damaged drive links, or replace the chain

Ryobi C4618 chainsaw worked great for two years, sat for a year. Fresh premium gas, fresh chain oil, fresh spark plug. Getting no spark. Ignition coil? Oil cut out?

check switch first then coil. Use a multimeter and set the positive lead of the multimeter in position where the spark plug would usually insert
ensure it has made good contact. Place the negative lead onto the metal body of the ignition coil. A working ignition
coil will give a reading of between 2.5 - 5 k ohms. Hope this helps.

FOLLOW this steps and fix it. Merry Christmas

Spark Plug

Every chainsaw relies on a spark plug to ignite the air-fuel mixture for proper combustion. Over time the electrode on the spark plug will burn away and the engine does not start. If the engine does not start, remove and inspect the spark plug. If there is any doubt that the plug is working properly replace it.

Carburetor

If the chainsaw won't start, the carburetor might be clogged or have bad fuel in the float bowl. If old fuel was left in the chainsaw for a long time some of the volatile ingredients may have evaporated, leaving a thicker, stickier product that is more like varnish or shellac. This sticky fuel can clog up the small jets and ports in the carburetor and it can be difficult to burn making it hard to start the engine. The only solution is to drain the old fuel from the float bowl and thoroughly clean the carburetor with carburetor cleaner. If that isn't effective, replace the entire carburetor.

On - Off Switch

Chainsaws are equipped with an on/off switch. If the chainsaw does not start, this switch might be defective. Check the switch for continuity. In the on position the switch should have continuity.

Safety Switch

If the chainsaw does no start, the safety switch - or throttle control switch - might be defective. If the switch isn't engaging with the throttle it won't provide enough fuel to the engine and the engine does not start.

Ignition Coil

If the chainsaw engine does not start the spark plug may not be getting voltage. Power to the spark plug is provided by the ignition coil. The ignition coil is mounted next to the flywheel. As the flywheel spins an electrical current is induced by the ignition coil. If the ignition coil is defective it will need to be replaced, it is not serviceable.

Rewind Spring

The recoil starter assembly has a rewind spring which spins the pulley backward to rewind the starter rope. If the rewind assembly is broken the rope will not rewind and the engine does not start.

Recoil Starter

If pulling the recoil starter assembly handle doesn't engage with the engine and the engine does not start. Repair or replace the recoil starter assembly.

Recoil Starter Pulley

The recoil starter pulley winds up the starter rope when not in use. If the recoil starter pulley is broken or stuck it may not rewind the rope and the engine does not start.

HOW TO PRELOAD THE PULL STRING ON CRAFTMAN MODEL358791050

You hand winde it in a CCW direction BEFORE installing the rope all the way until you feel significant resistance. (It really helps if there are 4 hands doing this). You then align the pulley knot hole with the rope guide but letting it rotate CW until it just lines up. Have that 2nd pair of hands GRASP the pulley tightly. Then pass your rope throught the rope guide and into the knot hole of the pulley. Tie 1 small tight knot and PULL hard on the rope to seat the knot in the hole. Let go of the pulley and the rope will spring wind into the starter recoil assembly. Sounds easy.. but can be quite tedious.

I broke th pull cord on my ryobi ss26 weed wacker.took it apart to restring is there a certain way it must go back together? does the cord through the little hole thats on the spool? if possible can i get...

There should be a hole in the pulley that holds the starter rope in the starter/recoil unit. If you have taken the machine apart to that point, yes, there is only one way to reassemble it.
You will have to wind the starter recoil without the rope installed on itabout 5-6 complete revolutions to "pre-load" tension on the spring-steel starter spring, then lock the pulley in place, insert the pull rope and tie it off so it can come back out and then release the pulley, letting it draw in the new starter cord. Make sure you have the handle installed so it will stop when it gets to the body of the engine cover.
