My Wii is no longer reading a disk. I put it in and I get a grinding sound soon after it goes to a black screen that says "an error has occurred. press the eject button and remove the disk and turn the Wii console off and refer to the Wii Operations Manual for help Troubleshooting" What do I do?

I would definatly contact Nintendo customer support. It sounds like your Disc drive on the Wii is going bad. They will either fix or replace your wii, if it is still under warranty then they will do so at no cost to you.

SOURCE: wii console error

Is it just one game that does this? Does it happen in the middle of a game or right away? Is the game an import?

I would call Nintendo on this one.

SOURCE: My Wii console fell and will no longer read disks.

Sounds like the drive or the laser has been dis lodged and needs to be repaired. Simple if you have basic electronics repair experience. Shouldn't cost too much to be repaired at a service centre, unless parts need replacing.

Hope this has been helpful.

Either flip the disc the other way and put it back in the Wii, fix any scratches on the disc, or send the Wii to Nintendo.

SOURCE: wii says An error has occurred. press the eject

Your discs might be scratched, the disc reader might be faulty or dirty. You should try to clean both the disc and the drive.

I can get the epic mickey game to work on my wii it loads fine i go to it and the screen goes black and says error

1. Check if your disk is scratched or dirty. If it is, use a soft cloth (DO NOT use tissue) and wipe it cleanly, then insert it again. 2. If the error occurs again, try inserting another disk. If the disk does not work, it means you need to send your Wii for servicing. 3. If your other disk works, it means your disk is unusable and needs to be replaced. If it is covered by warranty, you may want to send it for servicing or replacement. Otherwise, you'll have to buy a new disc.

Cannot play wii fit plus

Remove the disk, check for any finger prints of scratches and clean the disk if needed,

Turn off the Wii, remove the power cable and let it sit for a couple of min. Then pulg it back in, power back on and then try putting the disk in again.

If it is still giving errors/issues, try doing an update to the wii software in the settings menu and try the disk again after that finishes and the wii has been restarted.

New disks won't work, wii doesn't read

If Wii gives Disc Read Error, first step you need to check is totry another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide

Console problem

I'm having the same issue. Doesn't matter what game disk is in, after a little while of playing, the screen goes black with the message that disk can not be read. Eject disk and power off, then power back on and re insert disk. No error code is given. I just bought this console yesterday and this error has happened probably 10 times already. Wanted to get online and see if this was a common wii problem or I just possible got a bad one.
