The problem is withthe delicate electrical connections to the LCD screen. You may try twisting the screen using VERY light force to see if that will make the balcnk section workj again. Failing thta, the DVD player is too inexpensive to have repaired, if that service is even available. A new one would be in order.

Sayno 32in lcd DP32640 is making popping sounds then either goes to a screen that has no picture but lines or the picture is too big. then HDMI will come up like it is restarting itself. Help

The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

When tv is turned on picture flickers really

When it goes black can you see a ghost image? It will be a normal tv picture but very faint black and white looking, you may have to get close and look at an angle to even see it. If so that means your backlight system is failing. If you don;t see an image then it is a problem with the power section of the board inside the tv.

Check if it is covered by warrenty and get a quote if it isn't. A 42 inch is new and big enough that it should still be worth repairing but it may cost you anywhere from $100 to $250 depending on the shop to fix.

This is not an easy fix. It's the main board (PCI) which is the board you plug your DVD player or cable line into. You could replace it yourself, but if your not a tech you might want to have a local repair shop do it. You could find the part online. This is an older TV so the part might cost you $300.

You can get the screen replaced, just Google "iPod repairs" in your country. An Apple replacement will nearly cost as much as a new one.

One of my children threw it off a bed and the screen has moved and now a section of the screen is not working... Vertical lines in 3 colours, first white then rainbow then black.

HELLO

I'm puzzled! Is this a DVD or CD machine? Either way it was not a good idea for your kids to chuck it!! However.....

If it is a DVD player with LCD screen - then the screen is gone! If it is a CD player - the LCD track/time display is gone!

CD player: It may be possible to have the display replaced depending on the make/model and age. It may not be cheap to do.

DVD Player: It will cost you more than a new one to have the screen replaced.

I advise that if you get a new one, keep it well away from your kids (:-).

No picture--repair or just replace

This looks like the high voltage section and delfection section are having problems. I would take this to a shop for an estimate and if the estimate is not what you want to pay I suggest replacing it. The reason I say this is because if you try to fix it yourself you may save some money but you will spend money on 1) a schematic 19.00 (least cost) 2) Multimeter 49.95 (least cost from Radio Shack) 3) High Voltage Probe 70.00 4) Oscilloscope 900 5) universal video analyzer 900 These are the basic pieces of equipment to do the job that you are going to have to do to get this set up and running. Or you can do the hit and miss troubleshooting that is done by most do it yourselfers, which will cost you time. I say replace it if you do not like the price of repair.
