As sonn as you turn on your unit continuously press F12 before the windows logo shows. this will take you to bios where you can change boot options. Make your cd/dvd/ the first pop in disk save settings and exit unit will reboot then tell you to press a key to boot from disk you only have about 3 seconds before pc boots normally

You probably need to tell the BIOS to boot from the CD.
I'm not certain about your model, but you can try pressing delete button as it's doing initial start up, to enter bios. It may even display on screen what to press for bios. Then look for boot sequence options, and have the cd be the the first boot device.
If this works, you may see a message saying "press any button to boot from cd" if you don't do this , it will still fail to boot on cd.
If it works out for you, you should change this option back after completeing the install.

Cd will not eject from Mac laptop

To eject a CD from a Macintosh, start from power-off. Press the power button, and immediately hold down the trackpad button. Continue to hold the button until you hear the optical drive eject, or try to eject. If the CD does not eject successfully, then it is physically stuck, which is a different issue and requires professional service, which may involve replacement of the optical drive.

Windows xp will not boot on my hp mini 110.Keeps flashing to start up screen

Try selecting Last Known Good Configuration, or Safe Mode, and use System Restore option to go back to a date where the system booted correctly.

If neither of these options work, then you need to try to get into Recovery Console:
  1. Insert the Windows XP CD into your CD drive and restart your computer. If you are prompted, select any options required to start (boot) from the CD.
  2. If you are prompted to Boot from CD, you need to change your Boot menu Order in BIOS or Setup to boot from CD before it boots from Hard Disk.
  3. When the text-based part of Setup begins, follow the prompts. Select the repair or recover option by pressing R.
  4. Type 1 to select C:\Windows
  5. When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. (usually blank, so just hit the Enter button on your keyboard.
  6. Type chkdsk /r (space between k and /) and press Enter.
  7. The process may seem to take a while and freeze at times, but it's working. Just allow it to finish on it's own. Once done, you can type exit, and press Enter. Remove the CD before the system starts up again.

How do i install my recovery disc on my toshiba satelite A135-s4527, nothing is working right on it and i dont know how to use the cd

Make sure that your first boot option is CD and second boot option is Hard Drive. You can do this by entering Setup when you boot up your computer. Computer manufacturers use different options for entering Setup, the most common being either by pressing F1 or F2 or DEL.

Once in Setup, go to the Boot tab and check the Boot Device Sequence. If Boot from CD is not first, you need to follow screen instructions to change it. Then, 'save and exit'.

While your computer is on, open the CD drive and insert your recovery disk. Then, turn off your computer.

Reboot and your recovery program should start automatically.

MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP ALL OF THE FILES YOU WANT TO KEEP BEFORE DOING ANY OF THE ABOVE STEPS!!

Reinstall my vista

If you want to completely start from scratch and erase all of you files to reinstall windows, here is what you have to do. You need to "boot" from the Vista CD. To do this, you will need to insert the Vista CD and then restart the PC. After it shuts down and starts to start again, will need to press the button that says "boot options" or you will need to press something along the lines of F1 (it depends on your computer type) Pressing F1 will take you to bios. From there you will need to find "boot options" or "boot priority." Set the CD drive to be on top so it boots from the CD first, before the hard drive. Then save and exit bios. This should restart your computer. After that, continue with your normal boot up until is says "press any button to boot from CD." Press any button you want to. You should be able to follow the on screen directions for installing Vista there. Hope this helps!
