Personally, I don't see the sense this is a old keyboard and HP didn't even release Windows 7 drivers for it, forget about Windows 10. This means that none of the special function keys or media control will work.
The crescent key is for the computer to go night night!
Look under power settings in control panel this could be a key that can be reprogrammed. Usually out of the box it will but the computer into sleep mode.
For some key boarda the "Fn" key and crescent both need to be depressed.
Shaking the mouse or hitting space bar will wake up the computer.
According to HP, you don't need to download drivers from HP for this product for Win 7. Just use the Add Printer wizard function of Win 7 to go to the Microsoft Update site and get the driver from there. Follow the directions in this link:
The ONLY place I've found the correct drivers of the "Easy Access Keys" on the Model KB-0133 Compaq/HP keyboard which was made for Windows 98SE, is over at this site. I WARN YOU STRONGLY TO WATCH WHAT YOU AGREE TO ON INSTALL! After that, it will install the HP SP22XXXX service package with the drivers. The options afterward are in the control panel under... you guessed it, "Easy Access Keys"
The brightness keys on laptops are interpreted by either the laptop hardware, or more likely, the operating system. I would recommend going to HP's support site, http://support.hp.com, and downloading the latest chipset drivers from the site. If you are running Windows 7 than try the Vista drivers if Win 7 is not listed as an operating system.
no PC stated, my guess not HP puter.!!!
NO OS stated. (not all OS caN RUN IT)
only THIS
5187-7583
this is a reclic PS2 keyboard, Ill quote HP:"
HP Multi-Media keyboard 5187-7583 uses a PS/2 connector, and is over a decade old.
do not move PS2 devices from one maker to other. ever.
they are not standardizes like USB are.
WE STOPPED USING ps2 DEVICE IN THE LAST CENTURY
Why are you using this? now, in 2017
did you know, (can prove it) that some PCs cant even send enough power to many PS2 devices,
that is because it is NOT THERE device.
solved, buy USB devices.
and end any usage of XP now. for ever.
and win.
Visit HP's support page for your keyboard, download the hotkey software / drivers. If you don't see Win 7 stuff don't worry Vista drivers usually work ;)
instead finding printer driver, you should install first all the drivers of PC/Laptop. By entering some data about your PC/Laptop you can find your driver here: http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html?pageDisplay=drivers
Please install the correct driver of your PC/Laptop to optimize its performance.
