Question about ASUS Eee PC 901 XP Notebook
We bought 5 of these 901 20G models for our study group. Had to load XP (pro) in order to get 3 must have programs not supported by Linux. 4 of the 5 work fine, although patience is definitely a necessity. However, one of the 5 901's does'nt like to boot up. If the blue wireless light stays lit after power on is pressed, then that's as far as it will go. Same with recovering from hibernate. Have to hard shut down, then power on again, maybe 2 or 3 times before it properly boots or wakes up from hibernate. Funny thing though, if you try to come out of hibernate, and all the lights stay lit with black screen, (even after waiting and hour) and you hard shut down (press and hold power button til power off) then reboot, it actually will come out of hibernate! (Resuming Windows--------). Tried changing RAM card, but to no avail. Can't find a reset. Have wiped HD and reloaded XP 3 times now. I hope this unit isn't a dud. We haven't mailed in the warrantee yet. Bought from Amazon 2 weeks ago.
First of all never never never use hibernate only use standby. you want you hard drive to crash and loose all you info keep hibernating your laptop.
