Printing 1/2 page

When printing 4x6, only have of the photo prints and the other half does not transfer to the photo page. When looking at the printer, the right half of the photo does not print when the paper comes out of the Kodak EasyShare.

Yesterday the printer began malfunctioning. It prints all but the far right side of the photo. There appears to be a film along the used ink ribbon on the same area where it isn't printing. I installed a new ink cartridge but no help. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem you had with your Kodak photo printer only printing half of the photo. Followed your directions and my printer works great! The only thing I did different from your repair was I used real fine gauge wire instead of thread to wrap around the plastic cam. I just wanted to thank you for your posting.

Ok, this is what I found when I finally broke down and decided to take it apart. There is a bar with two cams on either side of it that are used to engage the print head to the paper. The smaller cam on the bar has cracked and no longer pushes the print head down on that side of the paper, causing the half picture. What I did was remove the cam from the bar, glue it back together, then wrapped it tight with thread (only one layer, there is a clearance issue), and put epoxy around the thread(to help reinforce the cam). Once the epoxy had cured, I reinstalled the cam to the bar. The cam did crack again, but the thread and epoxy held it tight to the bar. After reinstalling the bar and putting the rest of the printer back together, I crossed my fingers and tried to print a picture. Tada!! It worked!! I have since printed a few more and have not had a problem yet. It may only be a temporary fix, and nothing could be better then the original replacement part (if you know where to get it), but this has worked for me. Good luck and be patient.

good solution. Add that only the cover needs to come off the the easy share printer dock, not the bottom screws nor the circuit board.

Anyone know how to open the Kodak easyshare 500? I removed the 3 screws on the bottom and the two on the back but it seams to be stuck on the front.

Only printing 1/2 the image of the selected photo, I have tried changing the printer cartridge but still only prints 1/2 the selected image, any ideas why this is happening?

I am not familiar with that particular printer, but it could be as simple as making sure you have the entire picture selected..but it sounds more like the cartridge is either clogged or there is a setting that needs changed...try aligning the cartridge(s) and printing a test page. (that part is usually under a maintenance or troubleshooting type section) if that turns out fine, then there may be a setting thats off...look at your print may have a separate section just for printing photos...even if you don't, look at your page setup.. look specifically at the margin settings...that might be where the problem can always play with the margin settings- i would recommend saving them under a custom setting if you want to keep them, instead of default though...that way you have your regular settings for general printing... and do a "print preview"...that might be a good idea anyway, so you wont have to waste ink and paper trying to get your stuff to turn out how you want it (plus that will show you if margins are set right)...for that, there should be a checkmark box you can select to always do print previews...
also, look to see if you have a selection or checkmark box that says "fit to page" or where you can select how many copies you can print per page..this can be used for everyday printing, as well as for photos...
you may even see a spot where you can select the size of photo to print...usually you can pick to print "wallet size or 4x6, ete." and how many to print on a single page...maybe even multiple sizes per page...these are several options for you to look at...hope it helps :)

When printing a 4x6 photo, the image is printing with the top half of the photo twice, one under the other. what do I need to change to get a complete photo?

Be sure that you have the printer set to "reduce to fit", then try printing it again. Also, if you have a program like Adobe Photoshop installed where you can manually set the exact size of the picture, try that first, then send it to print, but using this method, DO NOT "reduce to fit".

Hope this helps. :)

Problem printing photos accurately.

I fixed the problem by eliminating possibilities. The problem is with the default setting on iPhoto which I use to edit photos before copying to a USB then printing. I need to change the default setting constraint to 4x6. The problem is not with the camera. Camera is great! Thanks.

When I print pictures on the 3210 HP all-in-one, they come out very small even though I choose the 4X6 in paper size for the photo tray. I've tried everything I can, but the pictures keep printing wallet...

First thing that comes to mind is that a 4x6" print could print four wallet sized photos; be shure your are not printing more than one copy.

If you are trying to print more than one,it will print the actual picure you have and leave space for the number of other nonexistent prints selected.

See page 75 of the Manual. for directions on how to set up photo printing.

If you have photoshop, you can resize your documents using the menu item, Image / Image size, (Alt + i then i again)

Set the resolution to 300, then the document size width to 6 or 10 inches.

This will guarantee that your document is full size, (though the printer should be able to resize it to fit on the page no matter what).

Give these a try. It's really a shot in the dark, but it's my best guess.

Printing Photos on Photo Paper

Ensure u are placing the paper in the photo tray..
if u r printing from the memory card which is inserted in the printer..ensure that the PHOTO BUTTON on the printer is on..
You can also try to reset the printer by going to the SETTINGS/TOOLS menu (RENCH SYMBOL) and then look for the Factory Restore (Might be under "Preferences")
