Got a Mitsubishi vs-8070, everything works fine then the screen turns off after about 15 minutes sound still works fine. Help.

Does this unit have a projection bulb in the back end of the set? Just based on my experience with a friend's 65 inch rear projection TV, there might be an indicator light on the front panel that may blink if the rear projection bulb is failing. If there is a failing bulb it could account for the screen going black with everything else just fine, after the bulb gets heated up in 15 minutes.

When you say the light is in standby what do you mean? Is it blinking? if so how many times? and what color? Is it solid? if so what color. If you provide this info i will be able to assist you better.

Picture but no sound.

I'm not sure of your particular model, but in general: in the rear of the unit is usually an access panel which you can remove. The bulb should be centrally located and is usually found within some kind of enclosure as it is EXTREAMLY bright and will blind you if you look at it directly. It is also located near a fan which is to keep it cool under operation. The bulb is approx the size of a small fist.

I know this is really obscure, but i hope it helps.
