These 4040 and magellan 2000,2200t,2500,3100,3140,4000 and the 4050 are known to have faulty dc connectors...if your magellan gps is not charging or will not power up, its most likely the dc power port...i sell these power ports and will repair them for anyone thats not able to do it them selves

I have lost sound/voice on my magellan maestro 4040 after replacing battery. Any ideas?

either you forgot to plug the speaker back in or you damaged the headphone jack...if the jack is messed up (the contacts to the board are ripped) you can buy a traffic cradle to bypass the headphone jack which will solve your problem

Have a 4040 maestro magellan will not get off the magellan screen

if this just happened, and you have not tried to update it (sometimes the update causes this) then power the 4040 on and once it finished loading to the blue screen, using a paper clip, depress the reset switch on the left side and let it restart (little pinhole on the left side under the usb port)

if you need further help, just reply to this post.

Magellan Maestro 4040 power connector has is loose how do I open

Remove the four very small screws from the corners of the black case. Carefully with a thin screwdriver or similar tool, pry the silver frame off the black back. This will expose the circuit board. You must also detach a small cable connecting the screen to the circuuit board.
