check that the batteries are inserted properly and are in the right way. Also try cleaning the battery contacts. For example with the eraser end of a pencil.

    Troubleshooting Power Issues.
Please confirm the following items if the camera does not work even if you pressed the <Power> button.

    Cleaning
the battery terminals with a cotton swab if the terminals are dirty,
and then re-inserting the battery several times may correct this issue.

Contact failures may have occurred between the camera and the batteries.

Clean the battery terminals with a dry cotton swab that has a fine and soft tip, and then re-insert the batteries.

Confirming that the batteries are properly inserted

If the batteries are not properly inserted, the power of the camera will not turn on.

Confirming that the [Memory Card / Battery Cover] is securely closed

If the [Memory Card / Battery Cover] is not securely closed, the power of the camera may not turn on.

Close the [Memory Card / Battery Cover] securely, and then turn the power on.

follow the instructions on this document to check that the batteries are properly inserted.

You most likely have dirty contacts or a loose connection inside the camera.
It might be worthwhile trying to clean the contacts. I would suggest using cotton wool twisted onto a skewer or wooden toothpick. Do NOT use any solvents or other liquids. If that doesn't help then you should seek professional advice ina camera shop.

I have a kodak easyshare c533 camera and it won't turn on. I tried new batteries but all it does is flash the green light. Any ways to fix this?

Green light flashed, turned red, lens would not open. Put in new rechargeable batteries, still nothing. Someone here suggested to try regular AA cheapie batteries. IT WORKED!

My kodak easyshare V1003 camera will not turn on. It worked a few days ago and now it will not charge or turn on. I just bought new batteries and it still will not turn on. Any suggestions on how to fix...

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera. Please make sure that you are installing a fresh/ fully charged battery c. Without the memory card, turn your camera on. 4. Please test with the a different battery If you do not have access to another battery Try these steps instead: Please take the battery out of the camera. b. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the battery. If you camera doesn?t switch on you will need to order a No power repair or a new cable. Fuji digital camera

I think I've solved the same problem on a Finepix A350. My shutter has been sticking for months now on powerup. I brushed all round the periphery of the shutter with a perfectly clean, small, camel hair brush and now it operates perfectly! So maybe the answer is to keep a new brush specially for this. Hope this works for you! I certainly would not try dropping the camera as someone suggested.

The lens are out, and the camera won't turn on

Hi,
Having taken apart a number of digital cameras I know they are fiendishly complicated inside. I can only suggest that you double check that the batteries are installed the correct way round and that you try again with new ones straight out of the packet.

If these suggestions do help you solve the problem, please give my reply a rating to help others judge my knowledge / guessing skills.
If they do not, please hold off on the rating and add a comment with more details so I can try to help you further. Cheers, D
