The cooling system of a chevy 6 cylinder 250 cubic inch displacement engine has a capacity of 3 1/2 gallons. if a solution of 3/8 ethylene glycol (the rest is water) is used to protect the engine against freezing temperatures, how many quarts of ethylene glycol are used?

Just pop the distributor cap and have someone crank the engine while you watch the rotor.

How I can determine which hole in the distributor is assigned to the #1 plug wire.
Pull the number one plug. Turn the engine over slowly (with a wrench) while holding your finger over the plug hole. When the air builds (a lot of) pressure you are coming up to the number one spot on the distributor. (the rotor will point to the location of the #1 hole in the distributor.)

Quick methods to disable the engine I have seen people do on the classics:
Close the points by loosening the set screw
Pull the rotor cap
Connect a wire from the coil to ground. (effectively closes the points. Can damage the coil if key is left on.)
Pull the main ignition wire
And there are some tricks at the starter solonoid involving the ballast resistor bypass that is used to provide a hotter spark while cranking. (Two little wires at the starter solonoid - one is crank the other is the ballast bypass.)

Not sure of your question. Picture and heading describe a Freezer/Refrigerator and your question regards a dryer.
Any way, to get cubic capacity, get out your trusty yard stick or tape measure and get the inside dimensions of your unit. If you take length x width x height you will get the cubic size. If it is a dryer with a round inside it is a bit more involved. In this case measure the diameter of the inside and the depth. The take the diameter and square it, [ recall your high school math ie area of a circle??] and multiply the answer times the depth of the inside. If you measure everything in inches the result you get will be cubic inches. The great Chevy V-8 engines in my day , 1960"s muscle cars had as much a 400 cubic inches displacement.. ahh those were the days

Hi guys, my bike keeps cutting out if i put lights on or press the brakes front or rear. bike starts and idles fine. totally stumped and any help would be great

    How to Fill Coolant

    If the coolant system has been flushed, first add 100 percent ethylene glycol in

    the amount listed for the appropriate engine application. Then slowly add clean

    water to the system until the level of the coolant mixture has reached the base-of

    the radiator neck. Wait for two minutes and recheck the level of the coolant

    mixture. add clean water if necessary to restore the coolant mixture level to the

    base of the radiator neck

    When refilling the engine cooling system, add three engine coolant supplement

    sealant pellets, GM RN 3634621 or equivalent, and GM approved new Ethylene

    Glycol Coolant DEX-COOL GM RN 9985809.

    If the cooling system is being refilled ONLY (no flush), a 50 percent ethylene

    glycol and 50 percent clean water mixture should be used to fill the system. Fill

    the system until the level of the 50150 mixture has reached the base of the radiator

    neck. Wait two minutes and recheck the level of the coolant mixture. add a 50/50

    ethylene glycol water mixture as necessary to restore the coolant mixture level to

    the base of the radiator neck.

    Install the radiator cap making certain the arrows line up with the overflow tube.

    Close all air bleeds. DO NOT over torque the air bleed valve. The air bleed valve is

    made out of brass.

    Fill the coolant reservoir with a 50 percent ethylene glycol and a 50 percent clean

    water coolant mixture. The proper amount of this mixture to be installed into the

    coolant reservoir is listed below:

    Add 0.65 liters (0.68 quarts) of a 5010 mixture of ethylene glycol and clean water

    to the coolant recovery reservoir.

    CAUTION: The low coolant indicator lamp may come on after this procedure. After

    operating the vehicle so that the engine heats up and cools down three times. if at

    any time the "TEMP' warning indicator comes on. Immediate action is required.

    What type of coolant should be put into the engine coolant cylinder


    Coolant recommendations and cautions:


    The recommended mixture is 50/50 ethylene-glycol and low mineral content water. Never use pure antifreeze. Only Mopar Antifreeze Coolant, 5 Year/100,000 Mile Formula (glycol base coolant with corrosion inhibitors called HOAT) is recommended. This coolant offers the best engine cooling without corrosion when mixed with 50% distilled water.


    Antifreeze mixture must always be at least 44%, all climates year round. Maximum protection (-90d) is provided with a 68% mixture protection. If the percentage is lower than 44 percent, engine parts may be eroded by cavitation, and cooling system components may be severely damaged by corrosion.


    CAUTION: Mopar Antifreeze/Coolant, 5 Year/100,000 Mile Formula (MS-9769) may not be mixed with any other type of antifreeze. Mixing of coolants other than specified (non-HOAT or other HOAT), may result in engine damage that may not be covered under the new vehicle warranty, and decreased corrosion protection.


    CAUTION: Do not use coolant additives that are claimed to improve engine cooling.

    any ethylene glycol antifreeze will do regardless of colour ,50% soloution ,unless your in a zone where temperatures can drop below -20c then use neat ethylene glycol 100% if vehicle if left outside with no pre heater in the cooling system
